Band 1 dinner - described as “chicken salad”, but with lots of (what tasted like) bacon, which I feel should be mentioned. Of course no menus on non-UK band 1’s.

Sadly there seemed to be a mix up and whilst 3AC got their trays, the food service from the galley then stopped. The trolley was dragged back into the galley from the rear, meaning that rows 5 - 13 had been served in the same timescale that the front 2.5 rows had, but 3DF and the rest of row 4 (save 4F) hadn’t received any food. At this point I went into annoyed meerkat mode and got the attention of the crew who finally clocked they had missed a front section of the cabin.

On these big CE cabins I will not be choosing rows 3 and 4 again for this reason.
This is definitely not normal for service though, even with the mega cabins. And, if you can’t get row 1, then row 3 is the best option for quick service in my experience…

BA 1308 LHR to ABZ. The alternative goats cheese and avocado was pronounced to be “yucky and mushy” by my 3 year old!

Cabin crew were very friendly and proactive though and kept the champagne coming!

BA 1309 ABZ to LHR.

I really enjoyed this apart from the coffee cake, had a second scone too. A top up on the champagne was offered and the tea tasted really good. It was a busy Club cabin (back to row 8) and the crew were friendly and efficient but not as proactive as the outbound.

One of the young crew members addressed customers as “you guys” which would not have been acceptable in my day as crew. I am definately seeing that newer crew are helpful and friendly but a lot of the polish and finesse seems to have been lost.

Just had that very meal on BA806 LHR-BLL. The salad was delicious, chocolate mousse is a favourite of mine, but the roll was so crunchy on top I’ll be picking crumbs out of my dress for the rest of the day. The bottom was soft, so something in between would have been nice. Still, a really tasty meal in my opinion.

Completely agree - the crew really does make or break it. Recently on a EDI-LHR flight with a fairly large CE cabin, but by far not the largest I’ve seen, the IFL was panicking about the time available before the service even started. As soon as they returned to the galley after the initial service runs, comments including “we don’t have time for top-ups” and “I’m not going to look at them as I go through or they’ll ask for things” were heard.

I do appreciate the flight time can be tight for getting everything done, but the cabin was completely cleared in a good ten minutes before the ‘ten minutes to landing’ call - so probably less need for panic and more time for top-ups than the IFL was giving herself and team credit for!

Also concur with this. Was on the 10pm to NCL one night over the summer and there were I think 5 people in CE. IFL came out to take orders before take off (which I quite like, regardless of cabin size), but then said 'it's going to be a bit of a rush!'. And then, despite taking the orders and the small number, it wasn't exactly smooth.

Contrast with a MAN flight one evening a couple of years ago with a full 12-row complement of CE where the crew ran two double trollies (whatever it's called when they link them together), served everyone in a handful of minutes and I think we had 3 top-ups (or piccolo bottles as they were then). And charming and friendly. I think they had 4 crew which is unusual for CE, but I might never have noticed or that might have been someone else helping out. Was definitely an A21N if that makes a difference in crew load. But it can be done.

BA 676 LHR - IST today

BA676. LHR-IST Today (19/11)

Very good balance of flavour and tasty for a veggie curry. Unfortunately the Wild Shore bottle top refused to budge so had to be part exchanged. Quite a busy flight with CE going back to the exits - nice crew and service.

Went for the avocado and Goats cheese tonight on LHR-GLA. Very tasty so it was. Another excellent crew tonight as was the earlier PRG-LHR flight. Landed T3 at 16.20 and still made the 17.45 GLA flight. Albeit was slightly DYKWIA when my bag was secondary screened at T5. Told them I was on a short connection and they needed to look at mine first. This was c17.10 and my flight was A10.

No pork menu from Tirana. All meals served with the foil lid on.

I really enjoyed the lamb, plenty of it and the gravy had a good rich flavour. OH enjoyed the curry too. Less keen on the Tiramisu, didn't like the texture which was quite wet and didn't touch the starter as I can't stand mayonnaise

All the signs of a lazy crew, all foils should be removed and the glass should be presently standing up.

Delivered by the Inflight Manager too. The rest of the service was fine with a bar run and nuts, top ups offered and snack basket pass.

Not great that the IFM set the wrong standard for the rest of the crew!

No menus on a very lightly loaded slot sitter service to Newcastle.

Options described as smoked salmon or burrata but this is actually the honey glazed trout from the menu uploaded by KARFA in post 1786 last month.
