The flight was excellent. We boarded on time and pushed off the gate a little early. We trundled off to the runway end and boof! We flew. It was abundantly obvious that this crew knew what they were doing and liked what they were doing.

Drinks were out in about 15 minutes. No trolley just seat to seat. Club was far from full. It made for a good contact with the crew. The Champagne was deliciously cold. Fever Tree is the Tonic aboard. Both of us think it bland and far prefer Schweppes. The revolution of Aviation Gin is back together with decent gin such a Tanqueray and Gordon’s.

When drinks were done and seconds offered, the IFL came out with a tray to take dinner orders. The choices were

Gratin Lamb Tarte

Gnocci of some description

Smoked Salmon

we both had the Lamb. It,was rich and tasty once you’d scraped the Sweet Potato off it (may this aping of the Americans have a short duration!). The rest was very pleasant and we were really well served.

I am charitably compared what we were offered in our so-called pokey business class of one hour 25 minutes, as opposed to what we were offered on a two hour service with our friends at AAmerican. Drinks and nothing else. We did however sit in big fat seats (big deal) 😉😉
