Blimey 2 offerings both with baked beans. Might be controversial but I'd struggle with that!

Likewise. My one recent breakfast-time flight from LGW they didn't offer menus so it was quite a salvage operate to find anything not already in bean juice.

BA588 to LIN at 1015 yesterday - served hot lunch (the chicken curry with beetroot which was v nice). However I wasnt expecting a hot lunch on a 1015 flight which I think is Band 2. Is that normal?

good point, yes i think the reference posts at the start are wrong as it suggests a cold plate for brunch, whereas band 2 is now a hot meal for brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Same here, I have an upcoming breakfast flight from LGW this weekend and it'll have to be the charcuterie plate for me, ordinarily I'd pick the full English!

IST to LHR:

Went for the lamb, which actually was one of nicest tasting meals Ive had in CE. The peas had a nice mint taste to them and the cheese sauce for the cauliflower was lovely.

Drinks topped up constantly, including a bottle of champagne for my other halfs birthday given on leaving the plane.

Snacks offered a few hours into the flight; crisps, popcorn, chocolate options. Christmas chocolates also handed out later on.

My second new design plane, and the second one to have severely cracked mirror:

I had the alternative to that ploughmans - the beetroot and goat cheese salad - on LHR-LUX today and it was nice. But the star of the show was that same Christmassy dessert with an icing sugar and cinammon taste to it. Lovely!

This was also served on BA807 BLL-LHR just now. I went for the meat option, as it was called. I was familiar with the salmon and the roast beef, the rest was very British (fruitcake, something pickled or fermented or something), the scone was lush and mercifully non-fruity.

I thought the finger sandwich was a bit like a fig festive chutney or a twist on Branston pickle .

No cheese? That is as ridiculous as saying "Coffee with milk, please - and I'd like it black"

This is the history "The phrase Ploughmans Lunch was coined in the 1950s by the Cheese Bureau, but wasnt popularised until the 1960s when the Milk Marketing Board began using it to increase sales for cheese. It was created as a marketing tactic to sell more cheese"

Personally I'd give the people who write this blah turnips - they could use them for brains! I am glad that you liked it, but frankly I would call it a Charcuterie Plate.

I posted this before - I still don't understand BA's habit of serving sandwiches with the TOP covered in spread/cheese/something.
