Due to a cancelled LCY flight I ended up coming back to LHR from Glasgow last night.
No menus offered (because it was a total mish mash of things) and the catering was the worst I've had recently. I am normally a big fan of CE food but it didn't taste particularly fresh.
Roasted heirloom tomato and farro salad. The dessert pot was something creamy with apricots (maybe?). Neither hit the spot.
During the IFL's lengthy cabin address he apologised that catering would not be available for all Club passengers because of the late cancellation of the LCY service. I was in 1D and was the third to be served. I said that I was a Cityflyer passenger so he could offer others in the cabin a meal first and come back to me if there were spares. He insisted that based on where I was sitting I could have a meal so I took one. I would've assumed the rebooked passengers would be served a drink and nuts and offered a meal if there was anything left.
Also, is there any way to chill champagne now on Airbuses? It always seems to be served room temperature now they've stopped serving splits.
