Flew back from Krakow this morning on the earliest running BA flight I think I've ever taken. Inbound landed 20 minutes early, the aircraft was half boarded at T-45 (when I arrived at passport control and saw a mostly empty gate area). I made it on the second bus to the aircraft but had no issues with overhead space in 1A.

We pushed back 10min early and landed at 12:01 (schedule 12:40), were on stand at 12:08 -- and we were about the closest stand to immigration I've ever had in T3 -- all in all a one of my better Heathrow arrival experiences!

I went for the KSML this time as I've never before.
Sweet mother of Kosher baby Jesus was that a lot of food (and I'm known to be partial to a substantial meal!)

It was introduced as a confit duck leg and the dish was bursting with noodles, veg and sauce (and a substantial hunk of duck). It was about 5cm tall and felt like about 3x what you normally get with even the most substantial Club Europe meals. After a few days in Poland where I think seasoning tends to be dialled up to the max, it was fairly plainly flavoured but not in a bad way.

The accompaniments were I think a fennel and maybe celeriac salad/remoulade type thing with an olive on top (top right) which was alright; a pot of hummus which was really nice, as well as challah and some crackers underneath that. The pudding was some kind of apple and rhubarb stewed fruit underneath a layer of something like whipped cream (I assume it wasn't cream as there was no other dairy on the tray) with a fine crumb on top. The hummus, challah and the pudding were the highlights but I couldn't believe getting served a whole confit duck leg (I appreciate KSML is covered in some detail in this forum and very popular for being generous!)

The standard menu for the cabin was (I believe) the same as in VSLover's recent post: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/36087987-post554.html (I heard "hot prawns", "Mezzaluna pasta" or "beef carpaccio" all mentioned). No menus were handed out and the service was all hand-run.

The crew were proactive on the first half of the flight (I think due to hand running - club was maybe 50% full) then tended to stick to the galley which was fine by me.
