TFS/LGW pm flight today. Pleased to have got the Xmas meal although not everyone did. It was very tasty. The wine flowed. Gingerbread men and chocolates handed out later. Nice flight. Landed on time and one hour later with our baggage we were driving away from Purple Parking.

when I dont pre order an spml, my preferred breakfast is usually the cold plate if available, but even on a 7.45am from lhr when I wasnt very hungry, this was a really sad looking effort.
The two bits put together would not even amount to 1/4 of a cured ham slice. Cream cheese was the size of a hazelnut probably ideal for 6 year old little girl playing house for her stuffed toys. And its nothing short of qa miracle to think that 1 single radish would have been enough to feed the whole full 12 rows CE had everyone been given cold plates!!
Maybe our Do&Co friends were going for a Guinness book of records entry of some sort that I do t know about? (I increased the food weight by 10% by grinding pepper on that poor plate)Chia pudding, whilst usually not my type of food, was good though. And the crew was absolutely wonderful.

TFS-LHR 13th December.
Quiet plane - 7 rows but only around 12 in CE in total. And economy very sparse. IFM did say outbound was however very busy. Handed the packet of nuts etc once boarding complete but before take off. Drinks run from trolley. Asked if I wanted wine for the meal at same time, I politely asked if we were getting a menu so i could decide (although i was pretty sure what menu was going to be thanks to this thread). Galley only then sent menu out with drinks cart.

How long has Tanqueray been the only gin option on CE?

Food hand run from galley. Credit to crew for serving soft warm roll (why is bread on LGW flights so much better).Didn't want another turkey dinner so went with pasta option - very tasty and went with the Primitivo really well.

As regards the starter, although pleasant, BA really need to be taken to task with their descriptions. It clearly says 'olives', yet search as I may i could only find a small speck (as pointed out with the knife).Dessert - crumble top was ok, but overall too sweet.

On the gins, I think they still have Gordon's and Aviation as well.
I've definitely asked for the latter in the last couple of weeks which dropped off the menu wording a while ago, and they still seem to stock it.
But is weird it's the only option listed, I agree.

RAK-LHR BA669 Poor, disorganised crew. No menus. I had “the salad” which turned out to be the Band 1/2/3 chicken salad pictured upthread which was very nice. Mystery starter (cucumber, wasabi mayonnaise-y thing) was also nice. Mystery dessert (a pound-shop tiramisu) less so.
There was a pre-meal bar run but no drink with the meal. I pressed the call bell twice and it was ignored on both occasions.
Clear-in was almost an hour later, at which point I was offered a drink. “Would you like a fresh glass?” “Erm, no thanks, this clean, untouched glass will do fine.”
Snack box of sorts was offered - no crisps or biscuits, just Lindor chocolates.
Flustered IFM kept saying how “manic” the outbound had been and “they drank the bar dry”. No Tanqueray. Though she also said there was no white wine left but then kept finding more bottles, told the chap in 1D there was no lager left but there was a whole tray of it in the trolley. (I don’t think it was handbag-bound, she was just dippy).
In-seat power broken. But an on-time arrival, despite the usual push-back pantomime of miscounted bags/pax.
Very nice mystery meal
Finished meal with empty glass (plus pre-meal empties)
50 minutes later…

I think (just guessing here) that supplies are erratic, which is a shame as I really like Aviation Gin and prefer it to the Tanqueray.

Could well be the case. I quite like both, but there's something quite... alcoholic about the Aviation I can't quite explain. So I am sometimes in the mood for it, and sometimes not.
