BA1308 LHR-ABZ Feb 5

No menus handed out. Expected Kosher meal but informed no record of it. Choice was Salmon or Roasted Veg and I went for the former. Quite enjoyed the salmon although no roll ever appeared to go with the butter


Asked for a red wine and was served a Malbec. A bit later was asked if I wanted another red and said yes. This time I was served a Zinfandel. After a couple of sips I used the call bell and asked for it to be replaced by another Malbec. No problem doing that but the cabin attendant did come back later and ask what was wrong with the Zinfandel. I said I just didn't like the taste and wondered if it was a bad batch. He did mention that it's not been popular.

Plane finished boarding about 15 mins prior to scheduled departure. Menus handed out. I did ask whether I was down for a Kosher and was told they knew of it. The captain said that we needed to finish de-icing before we could leave. It was about 2 degrees.



After we left the gate we then stopped just before the runway. The captain then came out and went to the rear for a short while. After his return we then departed.

Perhaps because I had asked about my meal it was delivered first. Writing this I've just realised I never took a photo after the wrapping was removed.


I quite enjoyed the main, especially the sauce. Wasn't such a fan of the dessert.

On leaving I did ask the Flight Manager about the captain coming out. Apparently the de-icing fluid can sometimes crystallize and appear not to be there. One of the attendants thought there was a section not de-iced so the captain went to check.
