This is precisely what happens on Gatwick services. I've noticed Heathrow crew are generally a lot more polished. Gatwick crews also seem to want to pack away everything a lot quicker... closing bars 40/45 mins before landing isn't uncommon now.

It's all right for those on here saying you can get a top up later on ... But a lot of the time that isn't possible.

Yes, I've had this a couple of times with LGW now. But I've also I had the bold part with a LHR crew, and worth complaining about. Got a voucher for my troubles.

In my case the CSM said it was to do paperwork, which was clearly to save him having to do it when on the ground. Was only a flight down from GLA, too. One and done wasn't acceptable.

BA 367 - Marseille to LHR - 3 Nov 2024 - 11:50 am departure

No printed menus. This was described as "Chili chicken" and I was assured that it was not very spicy. That proved to be false but the flavor was terrible in any case. It was basically a bad General Tso's chicken. The burrata based starter was fair, the pudding was butterscotch, which I hate, and the roll was cold and stale. Overall a thoroughly inedible meal.

Other choices were a cold roast beef salad, which looked pretty good, and some sort of cheese pasta, which I didn't see. Crew was efficient and apologetic about the food.

This was on the heels of an excellent J meal on a TUN-CDG flight on AF the previous evening, which made this one seem extra awful.

Surely when they do the drinks service you could ask for a bottle of wine for the meal as well as another drink. I always do and I've always been given both.

The thing is we shouldn't have to ask. It's business class. Service should be anticipatory.

Good crew should volunteer an extra drink. I mean, how is someone not supposed to know they won't later come round with drinks for the meal too?

If they arent coming round for drinks with the meal they should tell us... This is the whole point. Most of the cabin sits there, parched. I, at least know to get two drinks, from past experience.

LHR-OTP on Saturday, 12 rows of CE and full choice for everyone, even the last rows. Wasn't hungry and even though roasted chicken portion was small, it was actually quite tasty.

OTP-LHR on Sunday - 9 rows of CE, cabin was 100% full. only pasta available for the last row. I ordered KSML - main (chicken teriyaki) was quite tasty but starter and dessert (rhubarb custard) not to my liking.

Menus! Aviation gin not listed on the back but it was that or Tanqueray on offer. Not sure this should be called a goats cheese and avocado salad when it's almost homeopathic levels of goats cheese. Absolutely delicious though; the artichokes were very yum.

JapesUK and WiSK like this.

I liked the prawn salad. Its by no means generous (two prawns, green beans is more like sample size version) and the vinaigrette is more like a vinegary mayo but it was fresh and tasted good.

the roasted carrot and chickpeas is really more like a chickpea salad with a few bits of roasted carrot to accommodate it. Personally I would have much preferred the other way round.

Menu card again! Must be because you have high status. LHR-NCL-LHR twice in the last 6 weeks and no menu card on any of the 4 flights 🤬

That same menu was offered on GLA-LHR on 12 Nov. I had the omelette as my second breakfast, having already had black pudding, sausage and hash browns in the GLA lounge.

BA1477 today on an A319. A regular 319 for me as I have had a run of the ex BMI ones.

I did exactly the same this morning on lounge and plane. Lovely flight and crew. Pushback 10 minutes early off plane 15 minutes early. Unheard of on my recent GLA-LHR's

I really liked the omelette. Really tasty. I added the jam to the bircher which worked well too.

Crew proactive with drinks throughout but I was somewhat restrained as the CX J Lounge awaits before my PRG flight.
