It seems the crew just look at the food and guess what it is.

Don't they get given something which lists the choice titles and ingredients? How can they work out allergies (or not offer "turkey" to people who don't eat pork) otherwise?

Yesh its unforgivable really to simply guess based on sight, and they definitely do have a sheet listing the ingredients plus this meal has been on rotation for months now (the cranberries by the way are dried tomatoes and olives).

They should do no such thing - they have a manual called Chef's Chat or some such which describes exactly have the service should proceed and what everything is,

Nothing sets off the day better than half a tomato the size of your head.

volars prawn salad on LHR-EDI (#465 above) looks decent enough for what is a very short sector. Just wondering if the accompanying mini-portion of hard-boiled egg has always been standard issue size or have the caterers got themselves a new kitchen gadget that produces even more / smaller slices than ever .. ?

Same selection as per Saladman’s menu from Athens (upthread) on the evening service back from Oslo to LHR on Monday - roast chicken, chickpea curry, or pork salad.

Roast chicken was substantial, if not particularly memorable! Better than the watery chilli con carne on paper plates in the OSL lounge, which is currently under renovation….

Drinks run after takeoff and with dinner. Proactive top ups thereafter from two excellent cabin crew serving just fours rows of CE (taking one side of the cabin each and serving from the galley. .

Roast chicken, BA769 OSL-LHR, 4th March.

BA2700 LGW - TFS, Wed 6 Mar

Busy CE cabin (12 rows) with a really hardworking and enthusiastic crew who barely sat down during the flight.

I admit to being easily pleased when it comes to a cooked breakfast but I did really enjoy this.

Meet the egg wedger (I actually have one of these at home) - this one divides into 6 (to keep vaguely on topic, I think that salad contained 1/6 of an egg).

A day late returning to LHR this week due to a flight cancellation, but more than made up for with a stellar crew and tasty vegetable curry on the BA602 (SAW-LHR) earlier today!! BA (shorthaul) at its best!

Interesting to see the differences between the LHR and LGW full cooked breakfasts. I see LGW gets mini rosti and a larger, though IMO lower looking quality, sausage.

Interesting to see the differences between the LHR and LGW full cooked breakfasts. I see LGW gets mini rosti and a larger, though IMO lower looking quality, sausage.
I think only someone with a marketing degree could come up with the idea of calling tater tots rosti, but they arent bad.

Having sampled both recently, and as a connoisseur in the ways of the sausage, Im pleased to confirm that the LGW version is roughly equivalent in quality and vastly superior in size.
