Club Europe Catering Guide - September 2018 onwards

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering introduced on Wednesday 12 September 2018 based on 5 bands (Express, and Bands 1-4). The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that the menus for LGW routes rotate monthly, whereas LHR routes rotate bi-weekly

Please keep this thread clear for for reviews, menu descriptions, and photos. For chat about the new service arrangements there is a dedicated thread has now been set up for this Club Europe catering opinions and general discussion

Please do not quote photos in this thread.

The previous shorthaul catering guide for Sunday 26 March 2017 to Tuesday 11 September 2018 is now locked, but is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the special meals. The pre-ordered special meals are AVML (Asia-vegetarian), CHML(children meal), DBML (diabetic meal), GFML (gluten free), HNML (Hindu non-vegetarian meal), KSML (Kosher meal), LCML (low calorie meal), LFML (low fat meal), NLML (low-lactose meal), LSML (low salt meal), MOML (Muslim meal), VGML (vegan meal), and VLML (lacto-ovo vegetarian).

There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, and BA CityFlyer routes operated from LCY, STN, BRS, BHX, MAN, EDI, and DUB. For BA CityFlyer flights please refer to this guide created by eJetter BA CityFlyer catering guide

Is Athens (Band 4) going to be breakfast for a 9:50 departure? Seems it misses the rest of the day meal by 9 minutes

The cut-off time has to be set somewhere. Im
not sure currently, but pre-Covid 0959 is breakfast and 1000 lunch/brunch etc, regardless of length of flight.

Some pics from my recent DUB-LHR-DUB flights in CE - same options on both.

Parma ham, buffalo mozzarella or quinoa with beetroot and feta. Both dishes were served with an eton mess and a warm, individually packed breadroll.

I pre-ordered AVML on BER-LHR a few days ago.
Dessert could have been mango sticky rice, but the rice was an almost crunchy rice pudding.
The main was an excuse to get a real meal in London, but that was the plan anyway.

Low lactose special (ALC - LHR 16/9). Have ordered low lactose before and it has been meat. This was purely veggie, and the dessert was like a coconut yoghurt.

Travelling CE LHR - EDI @1720 (BA1454) on Tuesday, returning the following Monday @1355 (BA1445). Does anyone have a recent experience of normal and low lactose catering on these flights? Or would folks recommend we eat in the lounges before departure?

Regular options for this month on Band 1 routes are chicken and mustard salad or sweet potato and rice salad.

Had identical on BA650 LHR-JMK yesterday. As said Shepherd's Pie was fine, but needed a bit of salt. Could have done with some veg too as was still a little peckish afterwards. Pud was nice, even if not something I would usual choose.

I had that chicken salad on Friday (BRU-LHR) and was not impressed. I had the veggie option (spiced pumpkin) on BRU-LHR the week before and it was very tasty.

I also asked for G&T and was given Gordon's but that was my fault as I didn't specifically ask for Tanqueray!

.... and we had it on BA451 PMI-LHR on Saturday. No complaints. I also noted that they didn't seem to run out of anything - I was half-expecting them to run out of champagne as i) the comments on this board suggest this is a regular occurence; ii) the cabin was massive - the curtain must have been around row 14 and iii) it was a 5pm flight on a weekend, from a holiday destination. But no - they seemed to have plenty (and plenty was being drunk) - in fact the crew were almost pushing the bubbly on people. They also greeted us by name, which was a nice touch and not something that I remember happening anywhere with BA, other than occasionally in F.

Not sure if this is should be Club Europe or Club World since my flight was operated by a 787
Anyway, AMS-LHR I had the Coronation Chicken which was not too bad - reminded me of the old times, pre-Covid.
Service was busy - as the flight was surprisingly quite full with all seats from what I noticed filled - Managed a Champagne and a White wine. Crew seems to be on their feet.
