Club Europe Catering Guide - September 2018 onwards

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering introduced on Wednesday 12 September 2018 based on 5 bands (Express, and Bands 1-4). The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that the menus for LGW routes rotate monthly, whereas LHR routes rotate bi-weekly

Please keep this thread clear for for reviews, menu descriptions, and photos. For chat about the new service arrangements there is a dedicated thread has now been set up for this Club Europe catering opinions and general discussion

Please do not quote photos in this thread.

The previous shorthaul catering guide for Sunday 26 March 2017 to Tuesday 11 September 2018 is now locked, but is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the special meals. The pre-ordered special meals are AVML (Asia-vegetarian), CHML(children meal), DBML (diabetic meal), GFML (gluten free), HNML (Hindu non-vegetarian meal), KSML (Kosher meal), LCML (low calorie meal), LFML (low fat meal), NLML (low-lactose meal), LSML (low salt meal), MOML (Muslim meal), VGML (vegan meal), and VLML (lacto-ovo vegetarian).

There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, and BA CityFlyer routes operated from LCY, STN, BRS, BHX, MAN, EDI, and DUB. For BA CityFlyer flights please refer to this guide created by eJetter BA CityFlyer catering guide

Low fat CE meal

Another very tasty and healthy low fat meal.

The salad came with an olive oil + balsamic dressing, which I loved to dunk the warm bread in.

The main meal was roasted cod with roasted veggies and sun-dried tomatoes. It was well seasoned.

The fruits were nice but then I was presented with 2 extra desserts which I ate also making the meal not so low fat

Here is the menu for bands 3 and 4 flying into LHR, dated 21 August 2019.

The menu departing from LHR is in 1Aturnleft's post here:
Club Europe catering | menus, reviews and photos

Both these menus will be in service until and including 3 September 2019.

I have to say that this is my favourite shorthaul meal on the current rotations, the cod pie is excellent and the dessert a sure crowd-pleaser. The salad dressing is in the small plastic tub.

Not the same cod, but hopefully this is a more attractive picture.

Why can't all crew 'cook' with such a lightness of touch?!

The cold chicken dish from this menu, served on ARN-LHR yesterday. Traveller was less than impressed, reporting the chicken to be dry, and the lettuce in the starter having the brown edges that lettuce gets when it’s been around too long. As noted, the salad dressing is in an unlabelled clear plastic tub, with no indication whether you should pour it over the starter, the main course or the cheese.

And nothing to please the ‘burnt sauce slopping over the side of the plate’ crowd either.

How long has BA been serving Nicolas Feuillatte in CE for?

(Forgive my ignorance but I haven’t flown BA for almost a year until my little protest against them loosing my card details last year ended this morning.)

This is the vegetable korma option served on board today’s BA460 to MAD. Very agreeable. The hummus starter was good too

Oxon Flyer will be pleased by the clean rims

LHR-BHD (Band 1 lunch)
(complete with BA100 pralines)

Sweet potato salad on an unidentified sauce (possibly tahini?). Very tasty, as was the hummus starter. The other option was a chicken and bacon salad.

KSML (dairy) breakfast this morning (sorry didn't take a photo. No power at seat on our long haul so phone had no battery). it was pretty good: omelette with cheese and tomato and a big latke, strawberry yoghurt, apple pastry and bread roll. As some here will know, I am not usually a big fan of egg dishes on airlines breakfast because I hate the "eggs in cartons" that they use for scrambled eggs and the like, but amazingly enough, the KSML uses actual eggs (easy to feel from the texture and the looks which are very different) so it was actually a good and fluffy omelette. The latke was enormous and very good too. The yoghurt was not, it was very liquid. Apple pastry fine, bread not very nice. On the whole, better than the regular breakfast IMHO because of the higher quality of the dish and the good latke though below the regular breakfast in terms of sides.
