Club Europe Catering Guide - September 2018 onwards

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering introduced on Wednesday 12 September 2018 based on 5 bands (Express, and Bands 1-4). The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that the menus for LGW routes rotate monthly, whereas LHR routes rotate bi-weekly

Please keep this thread clear for for reviews, menu descriptions, and photos. For chat about the new service arrangements there is a dedicated thread has now been set up for this Club Europe catering opinions and general discussion

Please do not quote photos in this thread.

The previous shorthaul catering guide for Sunday 26 March 2017 to Tuesday 11 September 2018 is now locked, but is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the special meals. The pre-ordered special meals are AVML (Asia-vegetarian), CHML(children meal), DBML (diabetic meal), GFML (gluten free), HNML (Hindu non-vegetarian meal), KSML (Kosher meal), LCML (low calorie meal), LFML (low fat meal), NLML (low-lactose meal), LSML (low salt meal), MOML (Muslim meal), VGML (vegan meal), and VLML (lacto-ovo vegetarian).

There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, and BA CityFlyer routes operated from LCY, STN, BRS, BHX, MAN, EDI, and DUB. For BA CityFlyer flights please refer to this guide created by eJetter BA CityFlyer catering guide

BA1449 EDI-LHR KSML. Didn't really eat much as I was connecting from the QR flight and I got two full Hermolis meals on it. But the dessert was very tasty.

Band 1 lunch yesterday GLA-LHR vegetarian choice was Pumpkin Salad which was pretty tasty but could have done with less rice and more pumpkin. Mrs B had the chicken with an orange coloured sauce she informed me that it was good. Sorry no photos. Sweet was the gooseberry fool, again tasty, and way better than the one with the red stuff as the bottom layer.

Woo hoo new menu! Delicious chicken and mushroom pie on LHR-BUD tonight. Other options spinach and ricotta tortellini or Pumpkin & rice salad. Was happy with my choice. Very tasty.

I'm glad you liked it, but I'll admit that to me, those options sound just about as uninspiring as they get... Really dislike that "best of British" catering moment/concept - and that's despite there being plenty of British food I love.

It was the same menu when I flew back in September and last weekend, so far I've gone for the pasta on each occasion, but is the pie that great? It looks like it needs some veg at a minimum.

I did notice last Sunday the olive bread rolls had shrunk from the old good size to about an inch across, but hopefully just a one off blip.

There are carrots, leek and mushrooms in the pie. If it was cooked properly it could be quite enjoyable. The version I had was over cooked so the sauce had completely dried up and the chicken was rubbery. Along with the thimble of champagne served from a big bottle this was not BAs best effort…

Kosher Afternoon Tea LHR -LYS really impressed
Much better than the usual option - clotted cream substituted but otherwise much better quality and quantity compared to everyone else. Even managed a tea/champagne run with meal service and a bar service two minutes behind.

The clotted cream would be substituted due to meat and milk not being mixed together in jewish law. A cheeseburger is thus forbidden.

it was definitely in need of a side of broccoli, but it was genuinely a tasty pie. Olive rolls standard size.

Forbidden AND inefficient: as long as one is going to be a miscreant, it is much nicer to make it a bacon cheeseburger with a side of grilled lobster!!

From my seat buddy yesterday, he had a kosher afternoon tea on an ABZ flight. Beef sandwich and beef wrap.

I had the usual two fingers from BA
