Different description from the crew though - mine was "nicoise without the tuna"!

A prawn cocktail for the 21st century

Shame it didn't come with a deconstructed black forest gateaux.

Quite. That salmon salad is really very nice; had it a couple of months back. I think it had cucumber instead of apple, but same deal. Ideal light lunch sort of thing.

The other... I don't get.

Did they warm the croissant up by sitting on it?

Before zooming in I had assumed it was a slice of pizza — the triangular shape and orangey-reddish hue made me think cheese and tomato but the shape was wrong (equilateral and not isosceles) so it did give me pause…

… doesn’t Buddha mean enlightened? Which is a very strange subscription for a food dish. 😫😬

I occasionally think that some crew members deserve to be eaten alive by red ants!!!

... though in fairness the first two random bits of crew description nonsense are kind of funny...

MLA-LGW beef curry, no menus, other options were veggie cottage pie and chicken salad

snack box handed round twice before the Lindor chocs. And they sold duty free. Pretty good flight all in.

Buddha doesn't mean enlightened, it means a person who is enlightened, so it is notionally a dish designed to be served to such a person. But of course it isn't.
I think Buddha plate is a recent food fad.
The Plate Method: A simple way for healthy eating - Buddhaplate
It doesn't seem to be related to the diet of Buddhist monks (those who have travelled eastwards may have experienced this cuisine as many monasteries have restaurants open to the public).
Although perhaps it was inspired by it.
