Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

  • dl.com seat maps: 777-200LR / 777-200ER
    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

    C+ is rows 15-18
  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.
Note: The overhead bins above 16 CDE have emergency equipment in them and cannot be used for stowage of luggage.

C+ and Priority Boarding/Baggage Allowance:
Passengers in C+ get Sky Priority boarding unless their elite status provides a higher boarding zonemu access. There is no additional baggage allowance unless elite status or fare class provide it.

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

I'm probably mixing it up with the Delta Skymiles Amex benefits. I cancelled that card after a promo last year, but may ultimately get it again and cancel my 30-year old Amex regular Gold. (Switching Amex Rewards for SkyMiles).

The only hassle Amex gives you on that card is that it's a "revolving charge" card, not a regular Amex. I always pay in full, anyway, so it's meaningless to me.

Flying BOS-AMS-BCN and VCE-AMS-BCN

I have EC on the BOS-AMS on a A330-300 and was being 6'3 was wondering if I should choose 12G or 13G?

On the AMS-BOS on A330-200 I have 11G which appears to be a really good seat from what I have read.

Thanks.
If you can get row 10 you will have the most leg room. Something to beware of: Delta is in the process of installing new seats on the A330's and the EC seats change configuration when they do this. On the new configuration, which starts at row 10 all the way across (rather than starting at row 12 in the center), there is a good amount of leg room for the bulk head and I would suggest it. Again, if row 10 on either side is available its the best seat, with the aisle seats having the most leg room.

Thanks for the tips. As of right now the seat map for my flight is the old one from what you describe as the center section starts at row 12. My wife and son are in 13H&J as they wanted a window so I am in staying in 13G as 13H&J were the only open set of 2. I'll keep a look out to see if it changes.^

I think it comes down to whether you prefer a bulkhead or an exit row. They will both have the same features: tray table in the armrest, AVOD, more legroom than other rows of Y or EC.
They also each have one unique downside, although minimal.

21F is right next to the lavs. They face each other and open toward the middle of the space between the two lavs, but you could be faced with issues of odor and lots of people coming up and down to use them. Some are bothered by this, some don't mind.

17E is a bulkhead and as such, you have to store your belongings in the overhead bin. Again, some are bothered by this and some are not (I, for one, don't mind at all).

On the website, there's 16C-E, so I don't think 17E is bulkhead.

On DL.com they no longer have a 76W designated seat map, so I consulted seatguru (since I can't keep all the seating configs straight in my head because there are so many). SG has has a map for the 76T/76W, which matches the 76T map on dl.com. That config starts off with row 17.

I still think it comes down to a matter of personal preference. Since 17 isn't a bulkhead on this plane, it will have a tray table in front of it, and the armests should move. The flight is about 5 hours, so if you're the type that likes exit rows, it could be a hit or a miss whether people frequent the lavs or not. Both seats will have underseat storage. 17E will still have decent legroom (unless you're well over 6' tall), and 21F will have a bit more. The AVOD might be a little closer to you in 17 than in 21, if you're going to be watching anything in-flight.

On the 76G, in 15F/G, was there a video monitor on the wall in front of you? Also, I can't recall, but is there a restroom directly in front of these seats, and if so, is that for BE or Y? It's been years since I've flown in the back of one of these planes...thanks in advance.

Yes, the monitor is right in front of AB CDE FG, mounted on the bulkhead wall. I thought I had a picture of it, but I can't find one, so I'll link to the seatmap on dl.com and you can see. http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...er-76g-ss.html
And yes, there is a lav on each side for Y. On each side, the bulkhead is the wall for a small closet, and then next to the closet is a lav. I flew on a 76G in 15A a few weeks ago. I wasn't bothered by the monitor or passengers using the lavs. I used a good eyeshade when I slept (it was an overnight TATL), and since I was sleeping most of the flight, I don't know how often people got up to relieve themselves. For the portions that I was awake, I noticed a lot of people crossing through the space in front of 15 CDE, so I would recommend against those seats (but it looks like you're looking at FG, which I would recommend).

Thanks much for the feedback. Using the eyeshade sounds like a good idea. It's been awhile since I flew in Y on this plane, but the price differential between Y and BE was enormous (more so than usual), and BE didn't have the lie flats. My flight at this point looks fairly light/empty, so hopefully there won't be much lav traffic. Again, thanks for the recent feedback.

I'm very confused and sometimes I feel like I'm reading conflicting information.

Can we buy EC seats without being a medallion at time of booking? And do all trans-con (LAX-JFK) flights come with the 50% recline extra? I have heard of conflicting information on FT

Yes, anyone can buy EC seats at any time regardless of status.
And yes, all JFK-LAX/SFO and ATL-HNL EC seats are supposed to have 50% extra recline. Interestingly enough, the DL website specifically omits JFK-SEA for extra recline but includes it in the list of domestic transcons that have complimentary beer, wine, and spirits.

767 - Row 16 (cde) vs 20 (fg)

Wondering what everyone's thoughts are between these rows for two people flying together?? ... Row 16 is bulkhead but we'd have someone else sharing, Row 20 is exit and we'd be alone but Delta site says there's limited recline? Some flyers have said row 20 has regular EC recline so I'm not sure. Happy to hear what you'd choose it's for SEA-CDG Thanks!
