Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

76Z / 76L - Bulkhead - Row 13

Hi all,

My sister is in this a/c tonight and she said row 13 has good leg space. 13AB and 13FG have better legroom than 13DEF. 13DEF still has decent legroom though.

Pics will follow.

FAQ: Economy Comfort Seating

Does anyone know how restricted the legroom is in 30G (767-400) due to the door? I'm currently in this seat hoping an EC seat will open up. Debating on whether i should just take a Y aisle that isn't restricted by a door. Suggestions on whether I should stick with 30G or not?

757-300(753). I'm trying to decide exit row or random EC seat. Both are open right now. I don't have to connect anywhere so I don't mind being further back if there is more room. There isn't much info on this jet in here from what I can find.

Had a strange experience online today.. Was booking YYC-SBN and put in my AR Plat number - wanted to charge me for the EC seats. Then put in my AF Gold (since I'm in Canada it's E+) card number and it allowed me to select the seats free... Strange but there's always a solution! Now have to change the number to AS.

Question 737-700 / 73w

Flew the 73W from TPA to JFK today.

EC is rows 10-13 ABC DEF.

Between row 10 and F there is a soft bulkhead between the headrests on row 3 and row 10. Row 10 can use underseat storage under row 3.

Unlike the 738, row 10 appeared to have decent leg room

Dont know where to post, need help.

some Delta seats are reserved to the SM Medaillon Members only - the questions is:
when will these seats be available to the public / non-Medallion members?

My flight is on 01. October (AMS-ATL) but I see the almost all preferred seats are available, but as mentioned for DM members only. Do they keep it until the last day?

Thank you!

Preferred seats are typically available to non-status pax a couple of hours before departure.

Nowadays it seems Delta is always reassigning equipment, guess one can never know until you walk on the plane whether the seating is as planned...
Guess I should not have jinxed myself. The flight from ATL received the dreaded "equipment change" treatment and my 11G on an A330-200 became a normal EC-aisle seat on an A330-300 instead. But with the '300 being a larger aircraft there were a few empty seats including the one right next to me. So I made the whole flight with EC legroom and, in effect, double width. So a net gain I suppose.

Return trip from MAN was on the scheduled A300-200 and 11C was, as promised, an EC seat with near infinite legroom. The traffic passing by did require a certain amount of care not to let me Size 13's trip someone up but if nothing else the ability to just stand straight up, facing forward normally, and stretch a bit in place every hour or so was a godsend.

Love me some 11C/11G on the 332...

IIRC, non-status pax can purchase the preferred seats at check-in (or possibly T-24...it's been a while and I rarely fly connections). The pricing is something like half of what EC costs for non-status.

I assume that once the flight is under gate control, GAs can likely move pax into those seats without charging.

MNL-JFK on DL172 Delta 747-400 on EC

Hi.

I'm flying MNL-JFK in early October on DL172. That's a 19 hour flight with a 2 hour blind stop in NRT. That's a total of 21-hours inside the aircraft! I presently am on 65H and with that in mind, I'm seriously considering upgrading to EC. I would appreciate it if anyone can provide some feedback on how EC is on this flight? It would cost me an additional $159 to get this seat. If ever, what would be a nice seat on EC given that bulkhead A to C and H to K seats are taken? Lastly, is beer and wine complimentary in regular Y? I can't get a definite answer from local reservation agents. I last flew this route and back 4 years ago and remember wine being complimentary all throughout. Thanks!

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

First of all, the 2-hour stop in NRT is like a regular connection. You deplane and reboard the aircraft. It might not even be the same aircraft, so don't leave anything behind.
As for EC, I would buy it. If $159 sounds expensive to you, check to see if you can upgrade only NRT-JFK, as it is longer. However, I don't know if 1-stop direct flight can be split into segments for EC purchase.
24D-G are also bulkhead, essentially with unlimited legroom, as the wall is really far. However, the armrests are immovable, there is no storage space, and because of the large gap between the seats and bulkhead, people tend to stand there or cross between the aisles. Other EC seats have enough legroom, if you're not too tall.
As for drinks, wine and beer are free in regular Y, and EC gets free cocktails.

Enjoy!

@misterbean: many thanks for your feedback. I'm afraid the EC option for NRT-JFK leg only was not provided when I booked my flight. It's also mentioned that DL 172 would be using the same aircraft so I'm not quite sure if we would be deplaning. I was told that this is only a "blind" stop. Last time I did this route, I did deplane but that involved a change of aircraft. My return flight on DL 473 would involve a change of aircraft though even if it's the same flight number. The EC option though is available for the JFK-NRT leg only. The Y section in the rear is still wide open as of now but the EC seats are quickly being snapped up. So I'm torn between taking my chances with Y and hope that the flight remains wide open or grab an EC seat now before the good seats sell out. I'm 6'0 btw.

Are you hoping that no one sits next to you, and that you essentially have 2 seats? I flew in regular Y on the same plane for a 10 hour flight, and it was uncomfortable (I'm 5'8"). If you can grab an EC seat on the aisle, do it. So worth the cost if you are considering it at all. The drinks are nice, but not the reason to get the seat.

Essentially, DL is making EC like another class of service here, and you'll notice the difference in quietness (of people) and fewer pax walking by b/c business is right in front of you. IMO.
