Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

Flying to Hawaii in C+:
- From DL's C+ page: 3-4" (7-10 cm) extra legroom/ Up to 50% more recline on select routes (JFK to/from SFO or LAX, and ATL/MSP/or JFK to/from HNL).

C+ and Priority Boarding/Baggage Allowance:

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

Which would be better to upgrade? At first I thought the night flight, but if I'm asleep will I really notice the legroom?

Thanks for the suggestions.
You will feel the additional recline for sure. At 6f I appreciate the legroom even during sleep.

C+ is not, for the most part, such a big deal on TATL flights--all of coach gets free booze anyway, and you have now the same entertainment options as well. The extra legroom isn't much of a difference in terms of night/day, since it's not enough to mean that someone in your row heading to the restroom wouldn't need to force you to stand up--you still will, as the extra 3-4 inches aren't sufficient to let someone by, so you'll be woken up if you're sleeping in C+ as much as in C.

Aside from the mental effect of having a tiny bit extra room, I think the main benefits of C+ on a TATL are first choice of meal (including the cold shrimp salads that they only load a few of onto the meal carts), first choice of booze (it's rare that there's any bourbon left by the back of coach), and the fact that you can board sooner rather than later. But all of this is going to mean the same whether you're headed east, overnight, or west, during the day.

slutide If I had to chose night or day, I'd do C+ for the night flight as I think the combo of extra recline and extra legroom does make for a bit better sleep.

I also like being near the front for getting into the passport/customs queue faster (though that can be useful at ATL as well). Do you have a connection out of ATL on the return? That could matter.

Included in the recline issue is my preference to not sit in the last row of C+ is possible so as not to cram the person behind, nor be quite as likely to be jostled if the person behind also has the extra 3" of space.

Recent experiences by me and a few others on different A330 flights we all noticed that the C+ part of the fwd Y cabin was warm. If that bothers you for sleeping (it did me) weigh that towards day flight for C+.

Exit row v C+?

The Wiki notes the narrowness of the exit rows. Any comments on the seat padding? Some of the comments on SeatGuru suggest that the exit seats are very uncomfortable. I have exit seating now on a 738 and am contemplating buying up to C+.

I think most of DL's exit row seats tend to have less padding. I usually sit on a pillow.

Anyone tried out EC+ on a 747?

I have an aisle exit row reserved, but I don't know if EC+ is worth it giving up the exit row aisle.. I'm fairly slim and short, just wondering if the EC+ branding is worth something on a 13 hour flight.

A321 Seats

Just booked my first flight on a DL A321 from ATL to DCA. Is there underseat storage if I choose seats in the bulkhead (row 7) or exit row (row 13)? Right now in 11A. Thanks!

I'm on a 757S (https://www.seatguru.com/airlines/De...57-200_75S.php) on a TransCon to JFK in mid-December.

Currently booked in main cabin although C+ is wide open at the moment. Should I book 26A or 36A? I'm currently in the exit row because I'll appreciate the extra leg room but I'm wondering what the divider is between 25 & 26. Is there even a divider?

I read the wiki but the 75S isn't even listed there.

Thanks,
RM

Do you need power? You'll get AC power in C+ but not in the exit row. That can be a selling point.

I've never seen a divider between C+ and regular economy on Delta planes. On the planes that have extra recline in C+ the first row of regular economy behind C+ is likely to feel especially tight because the row ahead has extra recline but you don't. As far as I know, the trans con flights, like other domestic flights, don't have extra recline in C+, but I'm not certain about that.

The 75S is part of the international fleet (used for US-EU on secondary routes), and so has extra recline.

Indeed, the CA TCONs (JFK-SFO, JFK-LAX) are operated exclusively by international planes (so they can advertise flat beds, and of course excluding IROPs), and so will always have extra recline in C+.

Couple flights coming up on the 333, seatguru shows 10 AB/HJ as restricted legroom due to bulkhead, but I question their accuracy anymore. Any recent pics or status on those?

Or is there any particular reason to select 10 over 11-14 AB/HJ? It's pretty open right now.

76Z

Hi all. Didn't see any info of the 76Z V2 on here. does anyone have thoughts? According to seatguru half the C+ seats are missing windows. I really don't like that Delta replaced the 747 with this aircraft on the NRT-MNL-NRT route..

Booked award economy JFK-LAX

Now they separated us into middle seats *****.

Is there any way to upgrade to economy plus without rebooking the entire trip, 3 tix?

I see that you are relatively new so I understand the confusion with some of the terminology, but it makes your situation a little unclear.

I'm guessing that you purchased 3 award tickets in the main cabin. Did you select seats at that time? The next question would be if Delta switched planes after your purchase because they don't normally just change seats (there are some circumstances). If your seats got switched you should call Delta to see if you can get them back or similar seats that are acceptable.

I'm also guessing that you are asking about buying seats in what Delta now call the Delta Comfort+ cabin which Delta calls an upgrade. If seats are available, Delta generally makes them available for purchase and you essentially keep your same ticket. A price will often show up on your reservation if you view it online or you can call and see what the price would be.

I'm making some assumptions above so I don't know if I described your situation. If you would supply some additional details, someone will be happy to respond to your question.
