Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

  • dl.com seat maps: 777-200LR / 777-200ER
    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

    C+ is rows 15-18
  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

C+ and Priority Boarding/Baggage Allowance:
Passengers in C+ get Sky Priority boarding unless their elite status provides a higher boarding zonemu access. There is no additional baggage allowance unless elite status or fare class provide it.

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

They are technically narrower because the armrests are fixed. This is the same in the exit rows and bulkhead rows. However, I didn't think they were noticeably narrower. The seats are wider (17.9") to start out with compared to 747 / 757 / 737 / RJ which are more like 17.4".

I also took an exit row on a domestic 767-300 last fall and found it was not noticeably narrower and I could sleep.

All the free choice seats on my flight tomorrow are gone. Only left with Comfort+ and paid aisle and window. I'd prefer not to pay for an assigned seat.

If I want to try and get assigned a better seat randomly, is it best to check in as late as possible?

If I check in now, since all the middle seats are not selectable, does that mean I'm guaranteed a window or aisle?

Thanks.

I would wait to check in, just in case something does open up. You are not guaranteed any particular seat at this point.

The last 2 or so rows will appear blocked and are gate-assigned. You will likely get a seat assigned at the gate. You can always ask nicely for a window or aisle. Before I had any status, I sometimes asked and received an exit row. Once I got an aisle plus seat for free.

I booked 17F (aisle) on the 767 for my JFK-LHR trip. Is this a wise choice? AB was booked and CDE and G are empty. Should I change to the window? It's the 76L version.

I like the 17A&G on those aircraft because there is so much leg room that you can still get out to the aisle without disturbing the person in the aisle seat. You get the advantage of a window seat without the restriction.

I was quite comfortable in 17G last week, the only caveat being that you have only one window, right at your shoulder; the one you'd normally look out isn't there. But eastbound on the redeye that shouldn't matter. Also, do board earlier rather than later, as you'll need to grab overhead space to stow all your carryons.

I just changes to 17G. At least I can lean on the side. I sleep horribly on the plane anyway.
If I were to buy one of those blow-up foot rests, is that permitted?

Once the plane hits cruising altitude, you can grab a carry on bag and position it as an ottoman foot rest. I use a little Samsonite Casual Wheeled Laptop Overnighter as an overnight foot rest. It has to be stowed again prior to landing.

I'm on a slightly weird configuration of a 767 in EC that I can't nail down. It's for a transcon JFK-LAX, showing row 13 to be a bulkhead, but showing the lavs next to that row.

I can't find an exact match on Seatguru. I'm thinking of grabbing 13B.

Anyone know this configuration? Is 13B better than an aisle at 16C? Is the lav right there as pictured in Delta's map as opposed to Seatguru's?

I'm guessing it's similar to this one: https://www.seatguru.com/airlines/De...-300ER_76Z.php

Flying paid C+ for party of two on domestic single aisle cabins MD90, B757, , B737 and A319.

I chose the bulkhead on all flights and left the middle seats between us open.

What kind of odds are we seeing on the (cheaper mid-day flights) for the elite upgraders snagging the middle bulkhead seats between us, 50-70-90% of the time?

Any caveats to warn me against the bulkhead rows for these plane types?

Buying Comfort+ on Award Flight?

Hi, sorry if I've overlooked this answer in my research. I have booked award seats, and would like to purchase C+ on my final segment ATL-SNA. Can I do that? Web site doesn't allow me to do so. I have no status with Delta. Thank you.

Not any more. Comfort+ is now being sold as a separate fare category and not a post-purchase add-on, for all domestic flights (and many international ones).

I just asked a CS rep about C+ "upgrades" into middle seats and whether a software update would allow an opt-out.

She said they'd been asking and asking for this - but was told it was not happening. Porque? DL decided fewer of us would check the C+ box if they confronted a chance of re-assignment to a middle.

More inventory to sell.
