Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

  • dl.com seat maps: 777-200LR / 777-200ER
    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

C+ and Priority Boarding/Baggage Allowance:

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

I usually opt for bulkhead seats on international flights, so I haven't compared the width to the other rows in a long time. They never seem too narrow for me (unless compared to D1 or F seats!) but I am not a good judge as I'm a small, slender woman.

Once you're in the air you can bring a smaller carry-on bag (e.g., a backpack) down from the overhead bin to use as a footrest, which for me adds to the comfort of those seats.
Thanks! I took the flight a few days ago. Seat width wasn't that bad. I liked that I was able to stretch out my legs better. It seemed that the folks in the middle row had more space between them and the wall. Also, the power outlet was not working, so I had to conserve my phone's power.

Overall, for 5'7 guy with a 38 girth, the seat was decent.

Nice to know, as DL2 is currenty scheduled to be a 767-300ER for the particular trip in question. Does the extended recline from the seat in front pose any issues?

I think the extra pitch makes up for the extended recline. I hear it causes problems for the first row of economy behind economy+ though.

As mentioned above, the legroom is not insignificant, even if it is just a couple inches. It allows me to get my backpack under my legs to get my feet up a little bit, and with the bit of extra recline, makes it a lot easier to sleep. YMMV.

I agree. It's not FC or anything that special but makes a big difference for me being 6ft.

On international makes an even bigger difference. Welcomed extra space.

I'm sure this is discussed someplace but I can't find it: If I book a Delta-operated but AF-coded flight to Europe, can I use my status to select Comfort+ on the DL metal TATL flight? I believe I've read that there are no C+ upgrades on Delta-operated, partner-coded flights, but Europe flights don't use the C+ upgrade system and PMs can just select a C+ seat at booking (when booking at the DL code at least). Is this possible when booking the AF flight number for DL-operated Europe flights?

On another of those so awesome MD 88's and forced to gate check my bag.

Dedicated bin space my rear.

GA said it was "first come first serve no matter what Delta advertises" when I asked about the bin space.

Did you get the sense that non-C+ pax had poached it, or just that it was full with C+ carry-ons? Was there a suspicious lack of carry-ons under people's seats where a bunch of people might've put both carry-ons in the overhead? I've been burned by that before...

It was full of carry ons mostly on the short side and rollaboars/carry ons on the other side.
When we deplaned someone from past row 14 came up and got a rollaboard and a carry on.

Boarded towards end due to late arriving connection.

Certainly not the end of the world just venting. I am over the MD 88 and their tired interior and crappy bin space. Rant over. :-)

Maybe I'm late to the party, apologies if this is known already. I just had two good segments in C+ on two different 738s - except I didn't actually select C+ seats. On both flights, C+ was rows 10-12 on the seatmap. I just booked preferred seats in Row 15. On both planes, though, C+ went back to row 15 and we had all of the usual C+ service. Thing is, I looked at the seat maps in the app just before boarding, and it didn't show this configuration so I'm doubting it was two consecutive lucky aircraft swaps. Is this just the norm or is DL refitting part of the fleet before selling it back to Row 15, just to be safe that they don't sell the product for planes where it isn't yet configured?

In any case, I was happy with it, and would pay money for it in the future.

Almost the entire 738 fleet has been reconfigured, and the seat maps are progressively being updated to show preferred seats starting at the exit row. When DL finishes the 4 remaining aircraft, I'm sure they will update the seat maps to extend the seat selection of C+ up until row 15.

A330 200 International flight seating

Flying to Italy on Delta (Alitalia) A330 200. I need legroom for a back injury that requires leg to extend. Just a bit more legroom is sufficient. I have a Dr note. I went in and changed my seat to 29c will this seat do?

Assuming this flight is operated by Alitalia, you may want to ask this on the AZ forum -- you may get more definitive answers. Because on DL's A332, seat 29C has no extra legroom.
However, on AZ, seat 29C does appear to be an exit row seat, and based on the position of the toilet, it should provide enough legroom.

Late to the game also, my apologies in advance...... Platinum Medallion > 10 years, rarely see an upgrade to First/Business and I accept this, however, today was beauty.

Just found out today that Delta Airlines now limits the amount of Comfort+ seats on any given flight to Medallions for upgrades. Just purchased a round trip to LAS(ATL --> LAS) and both flights show over 10 Comfort+ seats(including middle) available and I tried moving my seat to no avail. Called Medallion line and was told the policy changed a year ago, used twitter to the same type of response(although, a bit different).

Help me understand why I should remain "LOYAL" to Delta?

I'll give you this as a free agent, as this year I decided not to be loyal to any airline: Delta has the best end to end product of the US legacies. I've chosen them more this year as a result.

It is very true that Delta is actively trying to monetize the front of the plane pretty aggressively, but so is every other carrier, even if they're not as up front as Delta about it. Plus, on those occasions where I've sat up front (first or E+), Delta's been better than its competitors, to me anyway.

Delta very much prefers to sell you the exact product you want, and upgrade opportunities are drying up, but as someone who's paid for first ~50% of the time this year, Delta's the only domestic carrier where I'm willing to pay for it. It's worse for elites on every carrier, but that's what airline consolidation has done.
