C+ is not, for the most part, such a big deal on TATL flights--all of coach gets free booze anyway, and you have now the same entertainment options as well. The extra legroom isn't much of a difference in terms of night/day, since it's not enough to mean that someone in your row heading to the restroom wouldn't need to force you to stand up--you still will, as the extra 3-4 inches aren't sufficient to let someone by, so you'll be woken up if you're sleeping in C+ as much as in C.

Aside from the mental effect of having a tiny bit extra room, I think the main benefits of C+ on a TATL are first choice of meal (including the cold shrimp salads that they only load a few of onto the meal carts), first choice of booze (it's rare that there's any bourbon left by the back of coach), and the fact that you can board sooner rather than later. But all of this is going to mean the same whether you're headed east, overnight, or west, during the day.
