Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

14E on that aircraft (767Z v2) is a center-section bulkhead aisle. I remember those bulkheads (14 CDE) having more-than-normal leg room than the other EC seats. You'll have people passing you on the right accessing the lav, but I don't think they'll linger near that seat. The lav "wait area" is usually around rows 12 and 13.

Thanks. I can cope with people passing across if there is room for it. and the lavs are both sides next to 12/13 arnt they ? so there should be minimal folk passing across.

Will post my findings here tomorrow night

ah. think I misread what you said . passing me on the right is not a problem at all, after all, you would get that in any aisle seat. I thought you meant passengers will try to get from the right aisle to the left aisle via the area just infront of me.

Since the doors open toward the J cabin, yes people will gather by 12/13. While I doubt you'll find much crossing of your footspace during flight, expect a lot of it during boarding.

On the newly configured Delta A3L3 do the center bulkhead Economy Comfort seats still offer the best legroom? I'm booked in 10G, but I'm wondering if I'd have a better chance of stretching out if I was in 11G and tucked my feet under the seat in front of me. I'm 6'3", and hoping to sleep on a SEA-AMS flight.

Thanks.

76Z V2 EC review

Well, arrived safely in ATL.

Was sat in 14E which is the centre right bulkhead seat on the 76z V2. Had similar legroom to the pics shown by rwoman in prev posts. I am 5' 10" and was comfortable there. I could stretch and put my feet against the wall, but that was at almost full stretch.

I had a concern around the lavs being close, but as the pics show, the doors open at the opposite side, facing the BE section so there was no congregation near row 14. I did notice that row12 does have loads of leg room, but as others have said, that is where folk queue for the lavs. There were queues about 5-6 times during the flight, max i think 4 people, so not that much of a hassle as there was plenty of room for them not to get in the way of the folk sitting there.

While there was no mass congregation near me, there were about 2 instances where someone stepped into my foot space to let others pass, Also had 2 confused folk who for some reason decided to cross aisles in front of us rather than by the lav doors

One thing I did read somewhere here was about the table in the arm rest. Now I am a ... ahem... portly fellow shall we say. Not so portly that the seat width was any bother, but lets just say I felt wedged in when the table is out, an extra couple of inches would have been nice to give me some breathing room . that said, it was a minor irritant and I only used the table for the 2 meal services. and once finished, there was room to simply put the tray on the floor under my feet and put the table away.

The AVOD was great, really sharp screens. I had films on my tablet to watch, but didnt even bother getting it out from my bag.

Other stuff i didnt know...

The walk to passport control is LONG. about 10 minutes and the custom bit for non-US a tad confusing. On the plane we were told we dont need to fill in a blue customs form, then we were told we had to. When we finally got to passport control, as we had ESTAs we were directed to the kiosk which was fun. took 3 attempts to scan my fingerprints and the same to get my photo. after which it prining a customs form with a big X on it and i had to queue to see an agent who took my fingerprints and photo again. very strange. Bags were out by the time we got to baggage control and then we headed off for the MARTA shuttle bus to get to our Hotel.

All in all a good flight and I am debating wether to stick with 13G on the 76z V1 for the fight home or to pick a aisle EC seat should one come up just so I can use the table without feeling squished

Happy to answer other questions while the journey is still fresh in my head.

The only real drawback to the bulkhead seats, and opinion varies amongst everyone here on FT, is that the tray tables can be constricting if you are a larger passenger. I'm not too annoyed by the tray tables, but even though I'm a slim guy, even I think they can be close and constricting. I wish they had the ability to slide farther away from the passenger's body.
And it's good to hear that for the most part, your legroom wasn't infringed (although, I'll just throw it out there that I did mention you might get a person or two that do it in-flight ).

I love bulkhead seats with the tray table in the armrest if I'm traveling alone. Sure, I give up an inch of width in my seat, but it keeps passengers of size from spilling over into my space. I particularly love the first row of coach on the DC-9 family of planes because they have armrest tray tables and excellent legroom.

I will fly bulkhead when I can, except for the 764s and 738s. But I really do wish they'd make a better design. It's kind of ridiculous (and almost comical-looking) when you're on a 757 and have two feet of space between you and the wall, but the tiny tray table is only an inch from your stomach (and has less surface area than an open Sky magazine). But that still won't keep me out of the bulkhead. I don't mind if I sit next to a larger passenger who needs more space; I've found that regardless of whether they're big or small, bulkhead or last row of coach, it's inevitable that the person next to me will always lean to one side (my side) and use both armrests. Whatever. I remember seeing exit row armrests either on...AF or LH, can't remember... But I like the design because not every armrest was immovable. Only the ends against the aisles did, and I think that would be a huge improvement. But that's just me.

One question I have, if you are in a bulkhead seat in the new configurations, do you have any access to power outlets? For the new seats, the power outlets are found between the seats in front of you, and I was wondering if any are available for the bulkheads.

There was on on the front left side of the seat. Not sure is we had one each or 2 shared between 3. I had planned to watch films on my table with the power in, but found the same films on AVOD and the screens were super sharp, so didnt bother with my tablet at all.

For my return, I have changed from 13G to 17F. Aisle seat which I prefer, no table 'hassle' and means I can grab a GnT and a water without issue and in the event of any plane change, they should put my in row16 away from the lavs.

I assume they're found underneath your seat/the space between the two seats, similar to Y on the 738s and some other aircraft configurations?

free EC at Check-in?

the last few flights on delta i have been able to get an EC seat at check-in for free domestically.

1. does anyone know if this is policy or a per-chance thing?

2. is this also true for long-haul int flights?

im am currently a sliver med member.

thanks in advance!

It's a silver medallion (FO) benefit for domestic flights. It's not free for international.
