Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

    C+ is rows 15-18
  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

C+ and Priority Boarding/Baggage Allowance:
Passengers in C+ get Sky Priority boarding unless their elite status provides a higher boarding zonemu access. There is no additional baggage allowance unless elite status or fare class provide it.

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

Clicking the link works.

That's a really weird situation. SeatGuru says 16B is C+.

I've seen regular middle seats in between preferred aisle & window seats, but that's the first time I've seen it in C+. I bet the FAs don't know.

See what it says on the plane.

This has happened in the past where a C+ seat is showing as simply Preferred or as a regular seat. It's an IT glitch.

I would have every expectation this is still a C+ seat.

I have a flight I booked in June that is E-175 followed by 712 on the outbound segments and the reverse on the inbound. No status at the time, picked 14A on the 712 flights.

I just got a Schedule Change email that the 4th segment is now mainline on a 712; the strange part is that on segments 2, 3 and 4 my seat has been changed to 13A. If I pull up the seat map from My Trips it shows 10-13 as C+, which I cannot choose on my own for free (now GM but trip is still quite a ways off) and indeed if I move to any other C+ seat it wants to charge me.

I'll take it I guess?

BTW I realize the wiki says C+ on the 717-200 is rows 10-12 and the Narrowbody Master Thread says F12W15Y83 (which matches the 717 map on dl.com but OTOH I flew on N938AT twice last month and it had rows 10-13 and as mentioned the seat map from My Trips shows 10-13 as well.

Are the premium snacks supposed to be offered on the Delta Connection Carriers? I recently flew CVG-ORD-CVG on Endeavor/Skywest and neither offered the premium snacks. Endeavor gave everyone pretzels (with correct beverage service); Skywest offered a water service only.

Per dl.com:

Premium snacks available on flights over 900 miles and select routes under 900 miles. Starbucks®, beer, wine and spirits available on flights over 250 miles. Must be 21 or older to enjoy complimentary alcoholic beverages. Please drink responsibly.
At ~264 miles, I wouldn't expect premium snacks on CVG-ORD.

I just purchased a Delta "Preferred" seat on a transcon flight from LAX to JFK, since it was only $35 24 hours before my flight (award ticket). The seat is squarely in the Delta Comfort+ section, but it is a middle seat. Seat 14D on this SeatGuru map.

Will this get me Comfort+ benefits (i.e. free alcohol, better snacks), or did I just buy some extra legroom? FWIW I'm still in boarding zone 2 after the upgrade...

Again, thanks to everyone that participates here.
For the record, my middle "Preferred" seat did afford all of the C+ benefits. I did the same thing on the back from JFK to LAX and got the middle bulkhead C+ seat for $35. Still got Zone 2 boarding, but great value nonetheless.

It would be rather difficult to pass the snack basket and offer it to the pax in the window and aisle seats but tell the pax in the middle seat not to take anything.

The wife got to fly C+ before I've even flown it.

I did the selecting of seat assignments for her 36 hrs before departure. She has a FF # but no status. Her reservation displayed a Y but I have no idea what it cost since an insurance covered it.

There was only 1 seat in C+ and 1 seat way in the back around row 24 of a B737.

I clicked on the C+ row 6b seat and it became assigned to her without a fee attached. I'm not sure of the general expectation of this. Does it follow with the fare purchased as well as FF status at this time level? Her boarding pass was marked sky priority as well.

I told her to expect better snacks and free wine but it wasn't offered until she asked. Nobody around her asked for wine or beer. Am I missing something here? Do the FAs remain mum about drinks in C+ unless you specifically ask?

You don't indicate route, but drinks are only available for flights over 250 miles and the snack basket is only on flights over 900 miles. On those flights the snack basket is passed around and the FA seem to have this down. I've never seen them make mention that the drinks are free and a number of passengers, especially when this began, are unaware, but if you order an alcoholic drink in C+ you won't get charged.

I just got back from a LAS-DTW flight where I purchased comfort + for $89 each way. There ended up being a plane and crew change. Everyone was reseated. They ended up giving me a middle seat towards the back and there appeared to be a ventilation unit under the seat in front of me. There was absolutely no leg room for me. I purchased comfort + because I am 6ft 6 inches tall. It was the most uncomfortable flight for myself and everyone around me. The flight attendant apologized as she recently found out of the change herself. But she said there was nothing to be done. Does delta usually give refunds for situations like this or any additional compensation. I have no medallion status with delta.
