Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

    C+ is rows 15-18
  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

Flying to Hawaii in C+:
- From DL's C+ page: 3-4" (7-10 cm) extra legroom/ Up to 50% more recline on select routes (JFK to/from SFO or LAX, and ATL/MSP/or JFK to/from HNL).

C+ and Priority Boarding/Baggage Allowance:
Passengers in C+ get Sky Priority boarding unless their elite status provides a higher boarding zonemu access. There is no additional baggage allowance unless elite status or fare class provide it.

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

Looks like they are rolling this out to International now as well. I can no longer get a C+ upgrade for anyone on my PNR.

I booked Comfort Plus for a SJC-LAX-SJC trip. On the outbound it shows W but does not show Comfort Plus on my itinerary when indeed its a Comfort Plus seat. On the return it show W Comfort Plus on a Boeing 717. On the outboud its a CRJ 700.

I thought it should show Comfort Plus on both flights.

Technically not C+, but this is a DL codeshare, so ... thought I'd mention here that EC buyups are available on select KL intra-Europe flights now on DL.com in My Trips. I just bought 3 extra inches of legroom for $4.54 traveling AMS-PRG. I find the KL 737s 30" pitch to be very tight, so this was a pleasant find! A 90 minute Delta flight in the US would be in the $29 range for C+.

I also bought up to EC (I think ... it is still 'pending') on a KLM Cityhopper flight, that one I had to buy through KL's site. It was $6.81.

After September 2016 no more HKG EC seats for PL/Diamond?

Looks like APAC EC upgrades are still in effect after September except for China, Taiwan and HKG???

One of the reasons I fly DL and will be Diamond in one more flight is for the EC seats. The legroom and extra incline matter.

New CEO today announced that quality matters more than price for DL flyers. Not if we don't get EC seats on major long hauls on DL metal to HKG/China?Taiwan

I left UA as a 1mm and 1K, legacy from Continental. Do I have to leave DL too?

Not happy

I think you're right, but I tried to decipher this page under "Terms & Conditions" and gave up:

http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...fort-plus.html

For flights departing on or after May 16, 2016, Delta Comfort+ as a fare will be available for purchase in markets throughout the U.S. 50 & Canada markets for flights purchased on or after November 14, 2015, and the Asia Pacific Region and Latin America / Caribbean Region for flights purchased on or after May 21, 2016 departing on or after September 19, 2016, are governed by the applicable fare rules rather than these terms and conditions. This includes travel between the U.S 50 and Canada to the Asia Pacific region or within the Asia Pacific region, excluding China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan as well as travel to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and markets in South America where First Class product is available (Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela). Delta Comfort+ fares are not available within South America markets where the Delta One product is offered. Itineraries that include international travels (except travels to Canada, the Asia Pacific and Latin America / Caribbean Regions and each region’s market exclusions) will continue to be governed by these terms and conditions. Delta Comfort+ seating is offered on Delta's two-cabin aircraft, subject to availability.
I'm pretty sure the first sentence is the result of an editing accident/disaster. The other thing I got is that if it's going to/from S.A. and it has a D1 cabin then the old C+ rules apply, which tracks with what I'm seeing for a LIM itinerary later this year -- I can switch back and forth between Y and Y+. Not so on a NRT flight, I'm in WU and if I test a regular economy seat I get the message about which "experience" I purchased.

This is a hot mess.

Another hot mess data point:

I just booked a domestic trip for later this year. I know I deselected the C+ upgrade request before purchasing. A few minutes after purchasing, I looked in My Trips and C+ UG request was checked for both outbound and return.

I find that to be totally uncool. I should not have to be checking up on DL's homework like that. I think I'll write a note to DL.

I've noticed that I get automatically upgraded to C+ after booking an award ticket, even when I haven't checked the boxes for it. Doesn't happen with revenue tickets, for some reason.

C+ Question for everyone.

A colleague of mine was on a DCA-ATL flight this am. He had purchased a W ticket. (After May 15) All C+.

His flight had a mechanical delay and he would have missed his connection so they put him on the hour earlier flight, but they moved him to the back in coach. Is he entitled to any compensation since this was #1 a DL mechanical issue that would have caused his misconnect and #2 he didn't get the class of service his paid for?

At the very least, he should get the cost of C+ refunded. I'd also ask for some miles.

I did that for a flight ARN-AMS in March. It cost something like 25 SEK which is about $4. I was, apparently the only person to do so because the entire comfort section of the 737-800 was empty except me.

Similar thing happened to me last week, although it was weather that cause a reroute. I'll be calling Delta today or tomorrow to ask for some compensation. This was an international flight and I was in EC and bumped back to coach on a Virgin flight. Absolutely sucked.

This will be interesting to see how DL respond. Since this is technically a W fare, if they put you in normal Y passengers should be due compensation. I wonder if they'll treat this like P or other F UP fares.

I also find it odd that I can add a companion on a separate PNR to the F UG list, but I can't do it for C+. I had this debate with a couple of agents. All of them told me the new C+ is a total disaster.

Apologies if this has already been covered in this thread. I tried a search but it told me my search terms were too short.

I'll be taking DL163 on a 76Z in Y in a couple of weeks. When I go to select my seat it allows me to "upgrade to comfort plus" by choosing seat 16D. Oddly, it doesn't charge me for this. The Delta site and Seat Guru both claim that this is a C+ seat, but the initial post in this thread tells me otherwise. Can anyone advise? I assume an 'upgrade' to C+ is too good to be true.

Not sure if posted before but just flew new A321 from ATL-FLL this weekend and row 13 Comfort + exit row had the most leg room of any economy seat I have ever sat in. I sat in the window seat and could easily have direct aisle access.
