Limo from EWR into Chelsea

FOLLOW-UP
Since writing this I found limores.com. They sent me a limousine to EWR (Oh, make sure and tell them you don't want a 300, which is what they sent me, but I didn't specify) and the driver had picked up a nice (although expensive. Make sure to give them a $ limit when you request) Asti which he opened for us. Limores is such a class act.

I have an apartment in Chelsea and travel back and forth between and ATL and NYC several times a month. I LOVE Carmel and use them 99% of the time (Deluxe Sedan) for trips back and forth from JFK and am perfectly happy. However, I have some friends coming up for NYE with me and we are flying into/out of EWR (Yuck, but that's what they had to do). I want a limousine but Carmel cannot (will not?) provide beverage service in their limos. I have two questions:

Does anyone know if there is a place in EWR that you can purchase bottles of Sparkling wine/champagne?

OR

Does anyone have a CONSISTENTLY REPUTABLE company that offers limos from EWR with drink service. I also have an account with Carey, which of course would be a fabulous trip but they are, of course, way more expensive than anyone else.

I wouldn't rate Carey as being that great....

Back in Feb I had a reservation with them, given the price paid I expected quality...

Reservation was made for Terminal 4 at JFK:

We were met at the baggage carousel ^
We were rushed out to near the kerbside, while being told off by security for not being allowed to have the SUV stop there. He was about to call the Police on the driver/assistant
A pretty old Escalade turned up which was the first
We had requested a few bottles of water be in the SUV, which were not there
The windscreen wipers were noisy as anything, which was annoying for the while trip

I'd never use them again!

Did you notify Carey? They are a top-notch operation and I'm sure they would be happy to hear from you regarding your experience. I hired one of the MB sedans last year from JFK and the car that showed up was the last version ( <'07 ). I told them I expected more and they refunded me 1/2 of the cost and put a voucher for 1/2 off of an Exec sedan in my account.

Limores.com

I've been using Limores.com for a few months now and have been really happy with them. Not only in NYC but in London and Detroit as well. Things I love about them:

Best prices for Mercedes Benz service
Online chat is very helpful
Online reservation and iPhone/iPad app is super convenient
Follow-up email so you can save the drivers/cars you like and those you don't.
Professional drivers with nice, well-kept vehicles.

Negative
Even though you "pay" online and print a voucher, most of the time you still have to produce a credit card and sign a slip that they run. Not the end of the world but not as convenient as Carmel and Carey.

Just booked a JFK 1am for Mon night/Tues morning pickup with Limores based on the reviews here.

Through my company's corporate discount site, we're supposed to get 5% off if we use the code "motivano" - which is coincidentally listed on retailmenot.com. That code didn't work. I was able to use WEB7 for 7% off though.

JFK - Brooklyn for $57++ - hope it works out - will report back if it doesn't.

Comparison shop. How much do the usual suspects, 666-SATAN, 777-OSAMA, et al. want for the same trip and a similar vehicle?

Also, for future reference, check how much your neighborhood car service wants for a home-to-airport trip although that price will likely be less.

Good call - I actually ended up cancelling LimoRes.com reservation. There's a Facebook page for my neighborhood & people on there recommended Eastern. So, I booked Eastern Car Service (866-499-7177) and ended up giving their number to 2 other people on my delayed IAD-JFK flight. They had a large sedan (not a Lincoln) waiting to take me to Brooklyn for $35 and a Chevy Tahoe waiting to take 2 of the other people on my flight (who were traveling together) to Manhattan. The great thing was that there was no taxis in the taxi line at 1:15AM when we arrived, so it was really nice to have a car waiting for me at the airport.

From here on out, I'll use Eastern 100% unless I have a bad experience (which I'll report here if I do) - but they're now programmed into my cell...

Another nice thing about Eastern is that they provide child seats for a very reasonable additional charge.

What is it with NYC car services? I have tried to book with Limores (via FT's contact) and he failed to respond after an initial "please provide your e-mail" - which I did. I then e-mailed Bigapplecar and no answer from them....frustrating. I arrive at EWR this lunchtime with no car booked. This has been going on for a couple of days now. Advice please? Thanks.

Go with the cheaper car services. I've used Allstate, Dial 7 and Carmel. They are especially good with EWR. Check their websites for coupons too.

When you arrive, you call them. They will pick you up outside of baggage claim in about 10 minutes or so. They also know to follow your flight.

Contact them right now. Now if you're flying in today, your flight could very well be delayed and the limo could also be delayed given we're in a snowstorm until tomorrow morning.
