National's (Executive/Emerald Aisle) Vehicle Selections by Location & Franchise List

Note: Based on request by some forum members - we're going to note locations that are known franchises in the second post of this thread. If a location is not listed here and its a major location, it's probably safe to assume that its a corporate location. Please help in this effort by posting locations that are known franchises in this thread and we'll put it on the list.

I thought it'd be helpful if we created an ongoing thread to document car inventories at both National's airport and neighborhood locations, in order to more accurately gauge rental car availability, quantities and expectations. And pictures speak a thousand words!

I'll edit this post as necessary to link to the other EA/ES selection reports. Listed in alphabetical order by Airport Code.

**If you don't see a location listed, then first do a SEARCH to see if a thread has been already posted, but for some reason not yet stickied. If there is no corresponding thread location, then feel free to start a new one in the forum. The preferred format for the title is: "Cars at XYZ", where XYZ is the 3-letter location code.**

picked up a full sized rental from Toronto Union Station - got a new Dodge Charger with 2000km on it.... returned it to YUL - So many dull PT cruisers in the Emerald Isle ... I'm dreading what they'll give me when I go back for a one way to Quebec City.

Good Job Tuneman,

Tucson (TUS) is a Franchise. Be wary of renting SUV/Minivans/Vans as they have mile caps on them at this location. Was able to rent a "Midside SUV" with unlimited miles and 75 day total (Yikes!) and that was with my corp discount. Getting that "good" of a deal suprised everyone working the counter.

MKE is also a Franchise

I rented at MKE last week and was told by the attendant that they only had Chevys because they were a Franchise owned by a Chevy dealership and not a Corporate location. Too bad. I'm really liking the new Ford Taurus Limiteds I've rented.

Not sure if DTW is a franchise but it does have a thread in this forum already but it is not in the sticky list.

Franchise (Owned by Skeena Rent-a-Car)

The few times I have rented here I have noticed a mix of older high mileage trucks and newer Subarus and Toyotas. This year I rented a couple of times, including once in August and got a 2008 or 2009 Durango with 85,000 km on it. Worked great, so no complaints!

Not sure with every rate code, but I don't think any of the rentals come with free mileage ($0.35/km).

Also, if you are renting from them and are headed to Kitimat (between October - April) make sure you call ahead to request a car with snow tires; Kitimat has a Bylaw that makes snowtires mandatory, but since the location is in Terrace not all of the cars have snow tires. They tell you this at the airport - and then only have a couple of cars with snow tires available; which everyone in the front of the line takes.

*Also, not an Emerald Aisle location - just preprinted contracts (sometimes) at the Counter.
