Cars at SBN

Anyone ever rented from SBN (South Bend). Just wanted to know the cars that they offer there. And do they offer the Emerald aisle OR the self check in kiosk to avoid the counter?

Thanks!

There is counter service only - this is a very small station.

Even when I was a basic Emerald member I was consistently upgraded to premium here - unfortunately that's usually a Grand Marquis, although last time I did get a 300.

I've noticed the car selection here varies greatly over time, probably as they often rotate cars back to hub airports like ORD after renters drive them to SBN due to irrops.

Having employees reposition corporate cars between corporate stores several hours away is probably expensive, and technically unnecessary. It could more likely be something I've commonly seen in Hertz lots in smaller Midwest cities: a lot of one-ways to and from larger airports for cheaper flights.

That may be possible for other stations, but I find it unlikely for SBN given the prices I've witnessed. The large pricing discrepancy between ORD>SBN and SBN>ORD one-way rentals indicates a huge demand imbalance. I remember once I accidentally entered ORD>SBN when I meant the reverse, and it was $70 for SBN>ORD but $280 for ORD>SBN.
