Newport News is a small station, no Aisle service, but they do have a booth in the parking garage next to the cars (booth closed on Saturdays, you have to go to the terminal counter then). I've rented frequently there for local rentals. As Emerald Exec, I've always been upgraded to full or premium or minivan if I wanted. Pretty much they give me a list of 4-5 cars to pick from, I take whatever has working satellite! No special cars there, just regular ones- impala, camry, 300, town&country, etc. Though I did get a camaro convertible the other day!
They interchange freely between National and Enterprise fleets. So basically your average small station selection, with friendly staff.

Figured I'd report back. Rented a full size. The only option when I arrived on a Friday afternoon was an Impala. I ended up waiting a few minutes for some recent returns to be cleaned up, and was offered a Nissan Altima or a Ford Taurus Limited. Opted for the Ford, which was okay... all the while eyeing the abundant Mustangs that Avis had on the lot.

Looks like they've just had some big staff turnovers. The 'expert' that I've worked with many times and who is my 'go to' person when I have questions/problems is no longer working there.
They've apparently hired some new folks who are still in training, and I've had serious problems getting simple things done, like doing a basic return (some weird charges that they couldn't figure out how to remove after 15 minutes, but the manager did it in 20 seconds), or even a basic rental (a $20, 1-day rental showed up as $250 on the contract paperwork, took a couple of calls between the booth and the terminal counter to get it figured out).

Any update here? No posts since '12.
I'm flying into PHF (usual ORF'er) for the first time next week.
Interested in hearing about selection and offerings to Exec.
Thanks in advance!!
