Cars at BHM
Did a search and didn't see Birmingham, AL listed anywhere.
I rented yesterday morning. Selection was the usual, nothing fancy. Among others:
Chevy Impala, Malibu
Chrysler 200
Ford Focus
Nissan Altima
I picked the Chrysler, but it had an airbag problem of some sort. The warning light came on, so I swapped the car when I arrived in Huntsville.

Returned an Alamo rental here on Tuesday 5-Nov around 4pm ... but passed by EA for FlyerTalk!
It was loaded with lierally everything from mid-size cars to huge SUV's and everything in between. Most were brand new too with tags not even there yet just a plate that says 'tag applied for'
I returned a 22000 mile Chrysler 200 from ATL to them

Simairlinenet, your post is interesting. I just rented at BHM and it was not a EA location. It was Emerald Booth. I had to go to the booth in the garage and they assigned me a car, although the person did offer me a few choices.
What was kind of odd is that they have signs like you would expect with an EA, but it was definitely not the pick the car and drive up to the exit booth like an EA location.
I got a Chrysler 200. Lots of Impalas around, but the 200 had the lowest mileage and a standard size car was fine for me.

Note : BHM is not currently included in the Master List (Emerald Counter)
Did a one-way to ATL - with a detour to BNA to watch Georgia Tech in the Music City Bowl. Flight to BHM (from TPA) was significantly less expensive...
Exiting Baggage Claim, walk over to parking deck to Emerald Booth. EHI vehicles appear to be co-mingled in the second row (of three), with the last row exclusively Emerald Club. (approx 20-25 vehicles). As an EE, specifically directed to the 10 vehicles on the right side (as you approach the booth). More vehicle diversity in the area to the left, but, was specifically directed to the right (and was in a hurry). Nice drive up I-65 and got to stadium as National Anthem was concluding).
1 x Impala (Legacy, not Limited)
1 x Charger
1 x Explorer
2 x Sonata ('14, 4,200 mi odo, XM, GA plates)
3 x Altima
Encountered one issue - Cruise Control was fine to BNA, but, would not engage for the drive back to ATL - no matter, was consistently doing 80 anyway
just probably more to fill up upon arrival.

This thread hasn't been updated in awhile, so I'll add my experience from December as a point of reference.
BHM has an unofficial EA. The parking spaces across from the booth with "Emerald Club" signage in front of each space are the de facto EA. Nicer vehicles tend to be to the right as you're walking towards the booth.
My rental was a one way to ATL, no problem choosing any vehicle on the EA.
Choices were a variety of SUVs with cloth seats and a basic trim package (Escape, Terrain, Santa Fe, Enclave, Cherokee, etc.) along with a few Impalas and other midsize/fullsize cars. There was also a minivan and a Ford Expedition. I've never seen a pickup on the EA. Depending on the mood of the agent, one can choose a similar car from elsewhere in the garage if you want a different color.
I ended up choosing a 2014 GMC Terrain (Standard SUV) with IL plates because it was red and had AWD (and an ice scraper in the back seat). It drove well for a 4 cylinder and had good legroom. Headroom was a little tight when getting in, but overall a nice upgrade.
Previous EA bookings at BHM have gotten me an Impala, Ford Explorer Limited, and Dodge Journey.
If you want to drive a new vehicle, look for the vehicles without actual license plates. National at BHM usually has a few marked "Tag Applied For."
Overall, National at BHM is a well run smaller station with great rates and very friendly staff (granted, it is the South). I recently saw midsize cars for $13 per day on weekends, taxes included.

So pretty pleased with the selection here this past Sunday AM. Was told to select 1-26 (what passes for the Executive Aisle), choices included Altimas, Camrys, Kias, Tacomas, Challengers, and more noteworthy, a Jeep Gladiator, an Audi Q3 and BMW X2.

Just picked up this afternoon. Although it is not an aisle location, they have booth in the garage and at least 20 spots marked as Emerald Club. All the cars looked really new including a Santa Fe, a new Escape, an Edge, a couple of RAV4s (1 XLE, 1 Adventure), a Camry XP (apparently a custom accessory package for the South), Equinox, Terrain and a Hyundai Tucson SEL with Convenience Package (Sunroof, Leatherette, a Roof Rack), Trailblazer. I took the Tucson as I reserved a Midsize SUV seeing as how I'm going to be visiting the factory where it was built and it only had 745 miles on it. The people in the booth were friendly and they were helping someone who had a complicated situation and they let me go in front of them. In regular spots, I noticed a Traverse, a Durango, a Q3, a Rogue and other normal vehicles.

Yeah, I did a double take as I noticed the badge on the front fender and then googled it. Like you said, it appears to be an appearance package based off of an SE. Kind of interesting to see something "different". I didn't check the mileage so am not sure if it was bought used or not but it looked pretty new and if not used, it must've just been bought directly from a dealer?

Picked up 11/19/24 around 2 PM. Reserved midsize as always, offered a Malibu, A5, or Altima. Obviously I took the A5. It's brand new with 8 miles when I picked it up. Surprisingly it's only a premium trim - the A4s I usually find in the fleet are premium plus trim.
