As for midsize, I don't recall as I got in on the $10/day Alamo promo & booked Premium cars.
Maybe someone who does alot of National rentals can comment more. There is no shuttle involved. Car rental facility across the road from terminal and cars just about 50-100 ft away. Very convenient.

I rented here a couple of months ago. There was no EA/ES, so I walked up to the front desk asking what they had available.
They offered me a Volvo S60 or a Kia. I took the S60. I was very pleased with the s60 from this location and ended up dropping off at SNA. It had maybe a 1000 miles on it with just about every option available.

Returned a car I picked up from LAX today around 6PM, walked through the National row on the way out. There were spaces marked Executive and Emerald, though I don't know if you get to pick yourself like you do at larger locations. FWIW, I was impressed with the selection given the fleet size-
Exec-
Sonata
Taurus (Limited Trim)
Buick Enclave
Emerald-
Impalas
300 (Base trim)
Other-
Terrain
Cad. SUV
Cad. Sedan
200 conv
Impala
Altima
Dodge minivan
Plus the nice Genesis I just returned.

No problem at all, before she even pulled up my reservation.
All four spots I saw marked as either EA or ES had midsize crossovers in them.

I'm new to National and their program. My new company has a contract with them. As an Emerald Aisle I think that's their base member level, what car can I expect at LGB?

Reserved a PCAR, am EE
Offered a 2015 Audi A4. Took it.
Unfortunately, it has no aux-in nor Bluetooth audio, so I'm stuck listening to the radio, and I didn't bring any CDs with me.
Acceleration is terrible - I'm guessing the last renter filled it up with 87 regular.

This week, I had a one-day reservation to use up my 12F award.
Executive: Murano (someone else picked) CX-5 Grand Touring, Q50 3.0t, Rogue, Challenger, a couple other SUVs and sedans. (I went with the CX-5 as I’m test driving compact SUVs. Nicely trimmed, but no nav and only FWD.)
On return: Audi Q5, Q60 3.0t coupe, Equinox, and a few others.
Nice selection. Only negative was two pairs of people yelling at each other for stupid stuff in the lot. I didn’t have time or interest to hear what they were going on about. Certainly nothing that National would be responsible for.
As noted, Emerald Club members go to the booth. It’s a very similar setup to BUF, but there were Exec cars clearly laid out. I’m thinking this could become a favorite for me.

Drove through the lot this afternoon to try and swap out my RAV 4 XLE (I HATE the engine on this car), and discovered - not one single car on the lot for National, yet Hertz, Avis and Thrifty were pretty full.

Any recent experiences at this location? I have a trip planned to the LA area and flights to LGB are working out the cheapest. Curious what to expect as an Executive.
Also flight gets in at 9.05 pm and the location closes at 9.30 pm. Is this something I need to be worried about. What do they do in case of flight delays?

Dropped off a Voyager here yesterday. Lot was sparse. I counted directly in front of the booth
1 Charger
1 Challenger
2 Camry's
1 Equinox
1 Santa Fe
Quite a bit of empty parking slots, although I don't know if the vehicles off to the right were part of the line up.
