Returned a car I picked up from LAX today around 6PM, walked through the National row on the way out. There were spaces marked Executive and Emerald, though I don't know if you get to pick yourself like you do at larger locations.
Sort of, you still have to go to the booth in the lot. But I walked up to the booth and say "hi, I'm Mr. Nick - I'm an Executive Elite, is that really a mini-Aisle and if so may I have that Terrain?"
No problem at all, before she even pulled up my reservation.
All four spots I saw marked as either EA or ES had midsize crossovers in them.
