Does anyone know if “GL” will eventually be added to digital BPs?

I don't know where all this suggested of 'confusion' is coming from.

The agents don't currently ask 'Gold card holders' to come to forward. They ask by group. As in the image shared in the first post, it says "the announcement which will invite eligible customers to board with group 0". This talk of confusion and renaming ggl surely comes out of not reading the actual post?

As lane 1 empties, call group 4 to use it, as lane 2 empties call group 5 to use it, etc. Half the problems right now are caused by queuing for the queue….
I see where you are coming from, but I actually think that there should always be a priority lane as advertised in the above announcement for GGL getting on the plane at their leisure.. I often stay longer in the lounge and get to the gate when boarding has already commence but I enjoy still using the 1-3 priority lane to get right in front of the 4-9 group that may have already been called, so your suggestion to then switch lane 1 for group 4 queuing does not work. Maybe they can start using queue 2 as in your example and let 1 free for late arrival priority passengers, but again, I would love to simply have clear and enforced messages so that when they call priority 1, they actually check in the queue that only one are queuing (I have experienced this once in DUB on the way back to LHR).

Still perpetuating the myth “if you arrive after your priority group has been called, you can use the priority lane to board at your leisure”

This seems to me like a classic opportunity to tear the groups up and start again. Here is my suggestion:

Group 9 Virgin Flying Club members

Group 8 Anyone who has ever removed food or drink from a BA lounge
Group 7 Anyone with any form of loyalty scheme bag tag visible
Group 6 First, Club, WTP passengers
Group 5 WT passengers over 45 or under 21, or anyone related to or aquatinted with such persons
Group 4 BAEC Blue, Bronze, Silver and Gold members
Group 3 BAEC GGL and Prems and anyone who has enjoyed such status at any period since privatisation
Group 2 BA staff, their friends, their family and tennis and badminton partners thereof
Group 1 Flyertalk BA forum Ambassadors
Group 0 Anyone with a big DYKWIA badge on

Wash your mouth out with soap and water for suggesting 'enhancements'

Then watch as OW classification gets moved so Gold becomes sapphire. We don't want to align with Star thanks.

I'm happy for those who pay for their own flights to be in Group 0! I will go and hide now.
This trail will never be properly validated. That's not the way things happen with BA. Having 9 or is it 10 groups, including those who submit their cabin luggage to get on the aircraft earlier, is far too many. What's wrong with boarding from the back on a domestic flight and ensuring that those folk do not use the CE overhead lockers? High status travellers often seem happy to wait until the last moment before boarding anyway. LH flights are another matter.
Finally ... is it left ball to simply not want every member of a family to board with one child/elderly person being entitled to pre-board?
That's my rant over!

Does anyone know how many people on a long haul flight are likey to be GGL? I can't see the point in a seperate group if it only applies to one or two people, but if it was a dozen then fair enough.

In my opinion, the really privileged people are Blue Card holders in First Class

it is not the number of GGL on a flight, but the number of GCH+GGL that impacts the value.

The amount of happy GGL's here surely tells you the value, since, we.. Value it.

For direct comparison, in the US on AA there are at most 2 people who come forward as CKs, usually it's 0 and they immediately move to group 1 if they don't see any movement.

I'd say it's route dependent.

On TransCons on a Monday/Friday, it's not uncommon to see more than 5.

My last few flights have had quite a few, and it's never the people you expect!
