My low expectations for Group 0 boarding yesterday at MLA in the event were too high.
Boarding pass produced by checkin agent contained the requisite Group 0 so enquired whether they would be implementing group 0 boarding. The rather bemused agent looked at the Group0 on the boarding pass and after a few seconds reassuringly announced "Don't worry I'lll be at the gate for boarding so you'll still be able to board with groups 1 to 3". My best attempt to explain group 0 was clearly lost on the agent so I didn't pursue it further.
In the event boarding proceeded with the calling of those with children under 5 plus those requiring assistance quickly followed by calling groups 1 & 2 together then group 3 a few seconds later whilst the inevitable throng of possible group 1 and 2s were still waiting for their boarding passes to be scanned. End result was gate chaos with boarding passes scanned by gate agents without any checking of what group was actually on boarding passes. In reality group boarding was groups 1 to 3 together plus all the boarding chancers none of whom had their boarding group checked as their bar code was scanned and they were waved through.
