No, but I'll add them to my list. Best burger chain I have recently experienced that (until recently) wasn't present in IAH was Five Guys Burgers. Good stuff.

We have one of those just down the street from our loft. I try not to go very often, as the portions are so enormous. But it is good.

Our flight to OMA tomorrow has five open seats in F; only one person waitlisted for the upgrade; we have four of the 7 upgrades. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas :D

It's Whataburger, but you're forgiven. I will be making nightly runs to Whataburger, and possibly morning runs as well for Breakfast on a Bun, in conjunction with and/or in addition to any runs planned by Hartmann. Those Box denizens who wish to participate are quite welcome.

I've also got to get a pint of Blue Bell at some point. I've met my Waffle House quota on my recent trips to ATL.

...and I wonder why my Indian name is Walking Whale.

My Arabic name is Huzbin Farteen. No worries. :D

I think I'll get in on a dinner run, and a breakfast run is subject to what the IAH Hampton decides to put out. At the Hampton in ATL that I stayed at, they had started with the breakfast egg-pizza-looking thingies. Kinda like large breakfast quiche almost. They were great. And as for Waffle House, I had my first taste of that while in ATL as well. Big ^. Would do that again anytime.

I think all Five Guys locations do that with the fries. Which makes me wonder why anyone would ever order the larger size order of fries they have on the menu, since a single order is enough for three people?

As for the burgers, the smaller size has only one patty. Five Guys is the only burger place I know of where the standard size burger has two patties. And these aren't wimpy little patties either. They're quite big.

Burger on a bun is good, but be sure to let them know that Breakfast Taquitos are also an option. Unfortunately, the quality of taquitos can vary wildly from Whataburger to Whataburger, whereas the burgers are generally of uniform tastiness.

Not a big BOB fan here, but I love the taquitos and the biscuit sandwiches.

Quoted fo' troof. I almost unilaterally order the BoB, but I have had some tasty taquitos at various Whataburgers across Texas.

I could easily be talked into substituting one Whataburger run for a trip to the Waffle House on Will Clayton just outside IAH. Hotel breakfasts ain't got nothin' on this!

I wish I was having that kind of luck with IAH-ATL on Friday!

I've seen Culver's, but never eaten there. What the heck makes it a butter burger? Do they put butter on it or something?

There is either butter when they grill it or added somewhere (I don't eat meat so I'm the wrong person to ask :o ) - I don't think it's anything healthy but MR Baglady fell in love and my best friend goes there regularly. BL Jr likes it simply for the ice cream.

I'm very much looking forward to the Box brunch. As long as wherever we go has good margaritas and good omelettes and/or good breakfast items wrapped in tortillas, I'll be on Cloud Nine.

Trust me, whatever the Hampton has won't be as good as what Whataburger has.

If you like ice cream, you must try Blue Bell while you're in Houston. Fortunately it's available in convenient to-go cups from The Little Creamery in IAH Terminal E — perfect for taking with you on the plane and making other passengers around you insanely jealous.

Blue Bell is one food vice I haven't had to give up living in Atlanta. Fortunately it's readily available in Georgia, although at a rather hefty price.

I've never had a bad margarita in Texas.

I know. I was in this same situation a few weeks ago as well. I need to stop picking these early morning flights. From now on, nothing before 10am. :D

ConciergeMike Dec 16, 2008 10:19 pm

NICE! I hadn't thought to check until just now. Approved!
