Staples is now in Houston. I saw one off of the Southwest Freeway. Apparently, there are 3 here.

Staples, OfficeMax and Office Depot are so interchangeable I can never remember whois who. Even after I just buy things from one of them. :)

I am proud to have an Easy Button (TM) on my desk. Maybe it helps that I used to work at Staples. Always liked it above any other office stuff store.

I got back from southern California trip yesterday. What a beautiful place. I absolutely loved La Jolla and San Diego. L.A. on the other hand I could have done without. The Four Points Sheraton in San Diego is a TD (Total Dump) and should be avoided. Sheraton La Jolla is a great hotel, I was upgraded to a Deluxe room with a kitchenette and sitting area. On this trip, I finally made plat with SPG and received a suite at the Sheraton Gateway LAX, which was very nice, but dark, with poor lighting. Dollar rent a car in LAX is a joke and they can’t get their act together. LAX is slightly dumpy, and two silvers traveling on L fares received battlefield upgrades from LAX-IAH (gasps…..) sorry if this is a big run on, I am in a rush, just wanted to post some of my thoughts and info. TTYL

Oh, LGA is a dump also.

The USPS screws up Express Mail so frequently that we will pay the extra dollar or two and use Fedex, which screws up hardly ever.

We send 10-12 with them each month and the last foulup I remember was Christmas week four or five years ago.

Doesn't the USPS outsource their express mail to FedEx ?

Hertz sucks at LAX too. Is there a good car company here??? We were on the 4:45 flight, upgrades didn't clear so we paid the $75 (3 tix) for the 6:20 and 2 cleared (it's okay MR BL doesn't mind the back ;) ) so well worth the $75 change fees! I love the LAX PClub! And they were able to move seats around up front so we are sitting together and don't have to bug people about moving seats ^

I think that they do for a lot of the air transportation but at the delivery end it goes back to the mailmen for final delivery instead of to people with purple shirts and hand computers.

I do know that the last time I was involved with Express Mail, somebody had sent it to me, it was late and could not be tracked on the web. I don't remember how long ago this was but Fedex has had this capability like, forever.

I learned a new construction of an existing word that I didn't think was possible.

Yeah...I was told by the seller on eBay that their local post office was "bad at scanning outbound items" but that I should just trust him that it was en route. In his defense, he was right that it was en route, but man was that annoying. Eventually I got a scan reading that it was in the middle of Long Island. And then I got the call from the woman at the post office. That's all. No other data in the scan/tracking history.

There is no way that FedEx is involved in this. I know that there was some agreement between the two a couple years back but I don't know the details. Either way, I will continue to use a carrier with real tracking going forward any time I have the option.

And now for something completely different, the awesomeness that is Terry Tate is coming back.

I (a Plat on an I fare) was #18 on the upgrade list tonight for IAH-PHL.

baglady Oct 20, 2008 1:39 am

I let MR BL take the pointy end with BL JR tonight (he having the extra 11" and me wanting to sleep and tonight I could have slept in a a cardboard box). That left me with a double seat swap but whatever I used a couple of drink coupons and night night until touchdown. Ahhh I love flights like that. Off to SGN in a few hours so good night all - back to you soon.

rolov Oct 20, 2008 3:41 am

615 flights are not fun
