We'll drive from SAN to PHX, and do Christmas. Then PHX to ELP, where we stop for the night. The ELP to SAT (the long stretch), and finally SAT to my parents place in Angleton. On the way back out we have to book it to get home as school will have started (she's a teacher) and I need to get back to work, so not much time for sight seeing.
The locals did provide with some interesting people watching when we stopped there for lunch. :) baglady I believe it was Jan that I was speaking to the other night. I think she was really confused that I was flying to EWR to fly back to HNL. Then I mentioned I was a FT'er and she said "Oh, you're one of them. There's a few of you that come in here and you guys know everything". Sounds like we're building up a reputation. :D |
Anyone flown IAH-SMF recently?
In looking at co.com I'm getting two different numbers for what the EQMs earned are. And I've got a friend who will either make or miss Platinum based on which number is the correct one. Any ideas?? I did check my statements and noticed that the PHL-IAH route is definitely the lower of the two numbers so I'm guessing that is correct, but I'm hoping that it is not. |

random Q for the Box
My office purchased a ticket for me for an upcoming event I must go to. i think the secretary was having a bit of fun with the reservation. I am listed as Dr. not Mr. I am going to change it online, but would this really matter? |

That stretch from ELP to SAT was grueling.
On the upside, this trip will allow me to drive on section of I-10 from PHX to TUS, which will mean that I have traveled on every mile of I-10 from coast to coast, JAX to LAX. I love airplanes, but the Interstate System is cool too. ^ |
Shity EWR flight 311 delayed by over an hour still haven't taken off and I'm going to miss connection to CLL. GA came on board saying no hotels at IAH and CO would not provide car service. Total BS as I called and confirmed with Hilton and they are wide open. .

My profile contains exactly three letters. I guess you can assume some things about me based on that, but I wouldn't base too much on it other than where a person is from for the purposes of figuring out a departure city when they ask about reward seats. Assuming that someone should know X because they have status Y is an exercise in futility.

Why is hockey so strange?
I just watched the highlights from the WAS-PIT game. Apparently a goal was scored but no one bothered to call it. A full 1:22 later the puck finally has a natural stop and the play is reviewed and ruled a goal. How does that work? Do they put the 1:22 back on the clock? Very strange. Plus, ice is slippery. During the playoffs a few years ago, the Devils scored and no one caught it because the puck flew into the net and bounced back out so fast that no one except the TV crew caught it, and even they weren't sure without a replay. The NHL put out a statement after the game to the effect of "Regrettably a goal was scored. We cannot amend the final game stats." The Devils still won that game, but the uproar would have been considerably larger had the outcome been altered. Oh, and for the CNN fans: Kyra Phillips has quite the nice tush. Before the Box cries foul and says that this post is worthless without pics, we were on the CNN tour and there's no photography allowed. I'll post of the rest of the pics tomorrow. |

My ex was so obsessed with his PHD title that when I'd book his ticket I would change his title to all sorts of fun things :D |
