NWA.com gives me plenty of choices (and some of the same flights co.com gives me. My question is if I book a flight on nw.com - can I get CO Plat benefits? (I see the earnings chart on co.com for NW flights, so I'll be sure to book in a class that gets 100% of everything). Maybe more importantly, can I use OnePass miles to upgrade? I doubt it, but I thought I'd ask if any of you have tried this.
There is a pretty good post (that I wrote) in the FAQ about partner upgrades that should cover it. I think it is ~#50 there. |
Made my BRU Hotel reservations today. One night at the 4P, and one night at the Sheraton (gotta get those stay-credits).
Anyone else use the Travel Map feature on TripAdvisor? |

NW flights are one of three partner carriers that actually CAN be upgraded with miles. That's the good news. The bad news is that there is no waitlisting and you have to buy the NW equivalent of the Y/H fares, though no co-pays is nice.

Question for the Box:
Since I'm grounded at home, I was looking into a possible trip next year to AUH to visit a friend. CO.com can only give me a coach price (it says there are no available flights with BusinessFirst). NWA.com gives me plenty of choices (and some of the same flights co.com gives me. My question is if I book a flight on nw.com - can I get CO Plat benefits? Just found out I get to make not one but two trips to SGN. I get to go to SGN, then on to XMN, then HKG, back to SGN, then back to HKG. I now have to juggle some meetings around in HKG to fit my second trip to SGN. Sigh. But my OW status is improving  I'll be able to use the new arrivals lounge in HKG.

Wow, thanks to a couple of schedule changes at work, I'll not only get Marriott Platinum this year for the first time and max out my Marriott Fall Megabonus (something just a few weeks ago I thought I couldn't do) but I can also go up one more level in SPG before the end of the year to SPG Gold. And I'll also be able to renew my status with UA mostly on the company dime.
Too bad business wasn't this good earlier in the year. My poor annual bonus is still going to suffer this year thanks to spending most of the months of June and July sitting at home. |
