You are allowed a Stopover on a reward. It will cost the same amount of miles as any other J ticket to Europe: 100,000 at Standard redemption levels. I've heard that The Dalmatian Coast is very nice (Split, Especially, which also has a stellar Le Meridien Property).

Does no SkyTeam carrier fly into SPU?
One of the reasons I went from Star to Sky was the ability to get to SEZ. Unfortunately, I won't hit the necessary mileage requirements until next summer, which is when we're fixin to go. And, I can't go more than a year without some pseudo exotic vacation. (rough life, I know) |

Every year for Christmas, its become a tradition for me to cash in my miles and get the Canuck a nice vacation. Unfortunately, C:rolleyes: is absolutely confounding with their mileage redemption(s).
If I wanted to do this itinerary: NYC -- CDG -- ZAG with a stop over of a few days in CDG, how many miles would it cost in J? On Star, you're allowed a stop over as long as it's at a hub, is the same true for SkyTeam? Anyone ever been to Croatia? I hear the Dalmation coast is nice. So, not only could you do NYC-CDG (stopover)-ZAG, you could do something like NYC-LHR(overnight)-AMS(overnight)-CDG(stopover)-FCO-ZAG//PRG-CDG(overnight)-LHR-JFK. |

Thanks for the fast replies on this (and ALCO too). I <3 FT.
I saw on the not-so-reliable awards thing that DL flights are 90k miles across the pond. Is there any basis in reality for that? Or, because the itinerary couldn't be accomplished 100% on DL is that moot? |

Aren't there some late-night departures from the West-Coast that could be connected to? I would imagine Transcon loads will be light on December 26. Perhaps an EWR-SFO-HKG routing might work?
Here is the back-up plan. What would you all need to give up a 16 hour nonstop and take a voucher and loose out on a night in HKG? I am thinking I need to be offered at least a grand. All bets are off if my upgrade clears though. (rough life, I know) Easyjet will be flying top Split from LGW and GVA (a nice train trip from Paris) and to Dubrovnik from LGW. |

To answer the other question, having a seat in F, whether paid or EUA'd, likely is a deterrent to a GA. It's not unreasonable for that F-seated person to want to be reaccommodated in F, and it's nothing more than a numbers game because there's a lot more Y than F. I wonder if sfogate will post her thoughts on this.
If you are wondering why I hold your boarding pass, it's so you can't get on board and change your mind. With our automative oversale manager you are asked at checkin if you would like to be a volunteer but until you actually speak with me, I don't consider you as one. I like to ask what you are willing to do with regards to rebooking and if you are willing to spend the night, if need be. I also will want to keep you on CO if at all possible. |

A NYTimes reporter just called. I gave some quotes relating to bag fees (spurred from a post on FT) and they're running with the story and want to photograph me. I'm fine with having the quotes in the paper, but do I dare show my ugly mug? :o

I will accept any volunteers that come and see me. I hold all boarding passes, number them as I take them and then use those seats as I need them. If any volunteers have connections it might get you eliminated from getting bumped unless I can rebook you without any major issues and/or you are willing to spend the night if need be. If you are sitting in F and wish to volunteer, I will ask and ask again that you understand that I might only be able to rebook you into Y class and if you agree then I will accept your seat for consideration.

I have been interviewed by the WSJ though I do not know if it made print. It was one of my rants about hotels putting in nice flat screens and not providing HiDef service. To this day I rarely turn on the TV in hotel rooms.

Also, it is a good practice not to talk to reporters about this sort of stuff. All they are looking to do is to validate their preconceptions about traveling and will twist and turn whatever you say into something you may not recognize. |

Depends if I had anything planned for that night, and how flexible my hotel is. I don't think you'll get a VDB that has a comma in it. And indeed, if BF clears then scrub the whole idea. Solid flight planning, by the way.
I try to be as thorough as possible when presenting my offer to the agents; I would do no less with you guys. and I found a new route to get me there. EWR-LHR-HKG CO28 EWR 6:50PM LHR 6:45AM +1 CX252 LHR 11:30AM HKG 7:05AM (12/28) BA184 EWR 6:50PM LHR 6:45AM +1 CX252 LHR 11:30AM HKG 7:05AM (12/28) |

I just got award availability to Zagreb with a 6 days in France along the way. The only problem is the flight home is on a Czech a310 via Prague. ... I didn't even know the a310 still flew. Anyone ever done that route before? |
