Lurker no more. Though it doesn't always happen with the first post (some victims require multiple exposures), the infection will generally begin to take root and propagate at that point. Once the spores have laid their eggs in your brain, it's game-over.

Once you are in , its hard to get out

Well today has been a relatively good day at work so far. I have been busy but not over whelmed and my EUA Emails for this weekends point run have been rolling in every hour on the half hour. :)

Nope. The IAH snow thread and the "ideas" he comes up with that would lead to more fees long ago emptied my goodwill tank. There are many fine humanoids that I wish to meet at the Do...<insert contrary statement here>.

I do sorta feel like it was my first line of Box crack.

But I'm sure trying it once won't get me hooked.

At least there was no talk of the Shrimp Pizza's that ssullivan loves

Of course it was hassle free they are juicing you for $375 or whatever the fee is now. Just wait until you have to deal with their customer service when problems arise.

I'm just sick and tired of the "customers ruin the airlines" mentality. I hear it all the time and it's ludicrous.

When you get that refilled in Jersey do they pump it for you? :D

I'm actually fine with fees as long as there's a value proposition involved. I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but airlines need to learn to upsell their customers.

However, charging me a fee for the sake of charing a fee is no bueno (read: US).

Should IAH have more than 1 de-icing station, even if it's only used once a decade? Apparently so. Use some of the landing fees / airport facilities charges to off-set it. You know, the sames ones we pay that are used to build the highways that go to the airport. The highways we never use unless we get stuck their overnight because the de-icing line is so long that our crew times out. @:-)

I'm a big proponent of one of the weaker dogs in the market going out of business (read: US). People alway say "but then the fares will go up!" and to that I say - fine by me. It's a necessary price we'll pay for sanity*.

I'm sorry -- I'll stop.

*unless they're charing me $1,000 to fly to FL over New Years. Then I just get angry. ;)

Some 'customers' have a real Stockholm syndrome thing going on, including one in particular that makes my teeth itch. @:-)

Welcome to the party!

I discovered the other day that my first post in The Box was about Facebook. I hate Facebook!

We are going to introduce a Penalty Box Fee to add ice to our drinks

Reminder: be careful what you say in The Box...

I'd hate to see this place flagged (or possibly closed) by the mods.

Those roads are used by anyone going to and from the airport, not just those stuck because of the lack of de-icing equipment.

The fees also go to help build new terminals and revamp old ones. I'd personally like to see an improvement at terminals A&B over more de-icing equipment (which may or may not be used ever again in the next 10 years).

And I'm done.

I don't think these posts will do anything to the Box, they're actually good posts. This information needs to be brought up.

belynch, you're coming to the DO correct? I think the brunch will be a great time for the Box to 'air their grievances', I mean, it's Festivus for the rest of us. :p
