I am profoundly lucky in this regard - MBM2 has a degree in aerospace engineering and enjoys sharing his geekiness with me. Amongst many projects at Boeing in the late 60s, he worked on the 737 and SST. He moved on in the 70s when they had a rash of layoffs, but it still got in my blood!

You never fail to make me laugh out loud, dude.

On another note, I got winner winner on proto-Godzilla's BOGO Marriott golf cert. Any takers to join me once I figure out where and when? The leading candidates so far are MBJ, SKB, MIA, and down the street in ACY. Gotta get a yob before I can plan a golf trip, but the cert doesn't expire until 8/9/09.

Looks like my scouting spot at PHL. :p

We have some great spotting spots here in CLE, just not many interesting planes. Our friends at www.opshots.net do a great job from a parking lot near 6L, the Bomber Group parking lot near 24R as well as other spots under the approaches. Plus, the webmaster works in CO Ground Ops and gets some unique shots from the tower.

Hmmm, looks like I need to find a spare weekend for travel to D.C. to indulge my OAG Desires.

5/3 sucks.

The seaview course would be the easiest to play at , easy meaning by getting there not actually course difficulty.

They were a joy to deal with when I was cleaning up my finances after being unemployed for a bit in the late 90s. Despite payment, stuff kept popping up on my reports for years and they had the stones to refer me to collection without notice or proof of the default. The collection agency enjoyed some fine letters from me and my lawyer.

Looks like LH will be purchasing a stake in Brussels Airlines. That'll give me an EQM-Earning (BD/LH) opportunity to sample the Avro RJ85 (have only ever flown the BAe-146 before). ^

Pretty much, yeah. I really have to try that spot, but it can't be done alone. Maybe when ALCO comes to PHL.

This is true, but the last time I played it I wasn't impressed with the upkeep. Now that I don't work in the area, I can get away with saying that I think the grounds crew let it slide somewhat after they knew that the LPGA would not be returning.

I would love to merely set foot on the Doral property, and having played Royal St. Kitts in 2006, I can tell you that the course was second only to Bethpage Black insofar as the experience itself. Even though CO doesn't fly to SKB, if that ended up being the choice it would still be in a timeframe when DL would count for miles. It's the lesser of many evils: DL from ATL or US from CLT or PHL. I'm not even going to mention AA because that would involve JFK or SJU.
