And the first flights early in the morning in each direction are easier to upgrade on.

Also very true outbound from PHL. You have to have a spectacular deal being closed or be a masochist of some sort to voluntarily take that 5:50-something departure in the morning.

But OTOH, I'm totally with you on Cake. "The land where large fuzzy dice..." :D As a former owner of fuzzy dice, I can dig their stuff.

IMO, "Comfort Eagle" is their best album, far and away. Every song on that album was phenomenally put-together. "Opera Singer" is simply fantastic. The only other album I have encountered where every song was pieced together perfectly was "Built on Squares" by The Starlight Mints.

I don't know, but I guess if they found out somehow ...

There's got to be enough collective knowledge in The Box (and certainly in the forum at large) to be able to answer that. The limited knowledge of ticketing that I have makes me think that it's possible to find out, but likely more  than it's worth.

An ex of mine turned me on to Cake and I would definitely agree re: Comfort Eagle. This was the same ex who convinced me to take her to NYC for the morning so she could see Tori Amos live in Central Park for Good Morning America, back when they did concerts at the Bethesda Fountain. That was in the Antonio Mora era of hosting, and I very distinctly recall the awful orange makeup tone he had. Why that sticks in my head I've not a clue.

I don't know about anyone else, but after having been to that fountain once, I found it to be nothing like it looks in the countless movies that it has appeared in, and I have taken to calling it the most overrated spot in NYC. Those who know me well have heard me gripe about it enough that they now recognize the fountain and when it comes on screen, they just look at me and say "We know, we know."

Ahh even sucky Cleveland weather seems okay after 3 Patron Anejo margaritas poured by my favorite bartender at Neuvo Acapulco.

These things could degrease a '65 Mustang engine!

:D

Fantastic! Hard drive also had a video file of "U Turn," the seriously messed-up Oliver Stone film with Sean Penn and Nick Nolte. Haven't watched that in ages.

Mrs. MBM3 and I had a fun evening debating which weekend to attend JazzFest. Given my birthday on the second weekend, I think that will win out.

I do want to see that new Sean Penn flick - I hear he is almost a sure thing for Oscar, and that is from my uncle who knew his character well.

I love sucky Cleveburgh weather. People told me when I moved to EDI that I would tire of the cold weather. Nope. I liked needing a jacket in July.

Houston is torture for someone fond of cold weather, though this winter has been shaping up as an abnormally cold one, so far. We got snow before EDI, this year. :D

Alas, I was assigned the task of buying booze for the visit of my sister's family this weekend. Gotta love getting approval for a case of GLBC Xmas, Scotch and Vodka. Weeeeee!

Patron Anejo is the favored tequila of Bruce Willis, and many properties will go out of their way to stock it before his arrival. I had a guest ask for it at Borgata and the only reason the house had it to sell to said guest was that Bruno had booked and later canceled some rooms and bottle service. Yup, king of the useless tidbit, that would be me.

Behold Flagship Whataburger! All hail Burger Mecca.

And a picture of a Gulfstream I that I spotted at CRP

And an Otter picture for good measure

I should probably put the Dalwhinnie 15 Single-Malt away and go to bed. :)

Whataburger has peaked my curiousity. I wonder if there will be time for a sample during the Do weekend.

There is always time for Whataburger. If you are lucky, the A1 Thick N'Hearty burger will still be on offer (if they offered it all the time, most of their clientele would die from excessive arterial plaque). If not, I highly recommend a Bacon-Cheese Whataburger with Onion Rings (with Whataburger Picante Sauce for dipping) and a Strawberry Malt. It's the finest 9,000 calorie snack around.
