Same here.

Also didn't get the L-1011, despite trying very hard to fly it in 2000 and early 2001. It just never would work out on my trips on DL back then to pick one up.

I have walked through one, does that count for something?

Not really the same thing.

Me too. But, yeah, not really the same as flying... :(

Yeah, if just walking through counted, I could add the Concorde, DC-3, 707, and Ford Tri-Motor to my list.

It would make for some rather short FM lines...

It's amazing how small the Concorde is inside. It's like CRJ dimensions in there — I think even the EMB-170 has a higher ceiling, and it certainly has larger overhead bins.

Man, I dissapear for a few hours to grab dinner and it gets insane.

I too am bummed about missing out on the concorde. Though, i've heard rumors that you can still charter one. Does anyone know if that is the case?

I was fortunate to fly on TW's L1011's back in the 80s. One of which was flying out of LGA which was, needless to say, interesting.

As far as I've ever seen, they're all stored in museums and such.

We had to get to 20,000 posts up in here. :D

And then apparently crash the entire FT site for an hour or so.

Quiet in here this morning...

Are all the IAH people scared to come out in a little snow and ice? ;)

Hartmann Dec 11, 2008 7:24 am

Geez, I'm going through withdrawals... FT was down this morning and I couldn't get my fix of the Box.

Ahh - that would explain the quietness in here.

EDIT: I think FT deserves the award for the least reliable site on the Internet.

FT was down for me last night and this morning. I actually had no excuse not to work!

No, I think they are all grounded for good despite a number of rumors otherwise, including SRB getting one for VS.

I look one of TW's L1011s in the early 90s and it was almost a scary experience. The rattles and noises were memorable!

My Uncle was lucky enough to ride the Concorde several times and loved the experience. He said the service and time savings more than made up for the cramped feeling inside.

I remember when you could still see a OnePass reward for the Concorde to Paris. 200,000 miles IIRC.
