Well, if you need a translator in the future, I'm fluent in Spanish. Didn't learn English until I was 5.

Good to know. I did well enough in Ecuador, which is to say I had beer and we made it home alive, but there were some interesting lulls in conversations. On the subway platform the other day I tried to help a couple figure out getting a metrocard but they only spoke Italian. That wasn't particularly successful. Had it been in the evening I would've taken them across the street to the Italian restaurant I go to where I know the owner speaks Italian. At 8am, not so much.

Okay, Okay, Okay! I've set it up. One RT entered already. I'm not sure that I'll be able to go back all 40 years I've been flying (YIKES!) but I shall try! But it is set up and I am entering :) So thank you for the gentle shove off the cliff :D

Thank you, thank you. First I would like the thank the academy, I mean PWP, I could not have achieved this great honor without you all. I look forward to #30,000 in the near future. :D

I'll be happy to honor you with the pound puppy from hell, just send me your address. :p

It is absolutely stellar. Some of the best writing I have seen on teh intertoobz, bar none.

And the best part is she is consistently that good.

If you want another hysterical thread to read give this one a whirl. It is a long one, but here's a little sample to whet your appetite:

I start to feel concerned at this point and mention how surprised I am that they don’t know who I am, all to no avail of course and then away my belongings go into the darkness of some conveyor. Resigned to not having my latest magazines and personal habituaries, I panic at that moment, realising that I really could not last without my favourite lip balm so I dive elegantly (I thought) through the forboding flaps of the contraption to rescue my bag. Well, they could have explained things clearer is all I can argue.

You will have many willing helpers who might even be willing to check the odd OAG from the 60s/70s, if necessary. Now, did you fly PanAm or TWA Pterodactyls? :p

Uh oh. The posting stopped. Was the line crossed. Should I have poured that last glass of red. Should I flee to the "Bugger I am " Thread?

I got offered a 15 year old this week. Her mother told me it was a pity NE changed their dump your kid law. I told her I didn't know that the law was signed yet and she may still have time.

I live under a carousel in the C terminal at EWR, just send it on the next flight and I'll find it. Really, I will. :p

I think that pound puppy should be set aside. Eventually, AMF in NJ will turn up at a DO. It is our sacred duty to ensure that the pound puppy is delivered.

I wish I had gotten to fly Braniff (even though they were based in Suckville, AKA Dallas), as well as EA. Best I managed was Texas International and TWA.

I had a handful of Eastern flights going up to NYC from GNV via ATL as a kid. I don't really know enough details to log them, and I doubt I could find enough details to piece it together, but I definitely flew them a few times. I had a couple PeopleExpress runs on EWR-JAX, too. I actually was able to get one of those onto my history based on knowing the event I went for. The dates my not be exactly right, but they are in the correct week, which isn't bad for a flight I remember from '87.

My early flights are easy to peg. IAH-CRP on Texas International when I was 3 months old, then yearly (sometimes twice-yearly) flights to MZT in the summer from the time I was 3 years old, onwards. I can generally pin those down to a specific month, so can use an OAG to track down which carrier I flew (CO if the nonstop was offered, AM, and MX for connections within Mexico, when CO didn't offer the nonstop in the 80s).
