Anyone ever fly Western Airlines?

I remember Braniff's big orange 747 flying into Hawaii in 1970.

I had a handful of Eastern flights going up to NYC from GNV via ATL as a kid. I don't really know enough details to log them, and I doubt I could find enough details to piece it together, but I definitely flew them a few times. I had a couple PeopleExpress runs on EWR-JAX, too. I actually was able to get one of those onto my history based on knowing the event I went for. The dates my not be exactly right, but they are in the correct week, which isn't bad for a flight I remember from '87.

I won't be exact, but I'll be able to come pretty close. My first flight ever was LNK-STL-PDX-STL-LNK on TWA. I can fill in the blanks from there ;)

Try remembering and reconstructing weekly short business flights from the 70s. I can't even get close but I do know that I have flown on nearly every airline that flew in the US in the last 35 years.

I cannot even for certain remember my first flight altho one of the contenders is an EA Shuttle LGA-BOS in the mid 50s.

Not that I remember. Did you see Four Christmases? I thought of you today when I saw it.

No. I didn't travel much when they were around. I still kick myself for missing the opportunity to catch a Western Pacific flight ex-COS when I was a teenager. I never had a realistic shot at flying PanAm or Eastern, as my parents believed in vacationing in the same destination, year-on-year (served by neither PA or EA).

If I could pick a single dream-flight (time-machine and all), I think I would opt for a Long-Haul on a PanAm Boeing 377 Stratocruiser. One can dream.

I haven't seen it yet but the airport scenes were filmed at SFO, in the old international terminal. They did the filming in July (while I was in Europe) and a few of my co-workers watched.

AMAZING!

I started flying at an early age as well. I think my first trip might have been from SFO to NYC at around 2. My mom was a United FA in the 40's so she loved to fly. And it was probably a UA 707.

I think you would appreciate a couple of scenes ;)

I would probably pick the Concorde. When I started working and had loose change in my bachelor days the thought never crossed my mind, though. :(:o
