I've heard that most human beings do have this thing installed which I've heard is not an optional extra, and nor is it dealer-removable. Apparently, some people stop themselves from saying things that could either get them in trouble or make the speaker look like a complete .... There are topics being discussed in the forum tonight for which it might have been nice if I came equipped with a filter, but alas I did not, pretty much from birth.

On the positive side it was the cleanest rental car I've had in years. But the tires needed alignment, the brakes were worn, and one of the rear speakers was blown.

Check out the picture of the brake pad in my blog post here. The car literally shook every time I tried to stop. Eventually it would stop, but not without a LOT of vibrations from the car. The particularly entertaining part was when they tried to tell me that they couldn't do anything about the situation. That didn't go over well at all. Fortunately it only took ~2 hours to get a replacement car from them. That was fun.

And for those who occasionally fly B6 from JFK, the new T5 is incredibly cool. Some info in the B6 forum, and more to come soon.

... yeah. I'm in the same boat. I thought that's what my kidneys were for, but, apparently not as I still seem to do/say a fair amount of things that, in retrospect, while immensely amusing - are probably better left undone.

For example, if anyone in the NY area owns a carousel, and is missing one of the horses. I have it*. I'm keeping it in a horse trailer (not mine -- I'm not really sure who owns it) as it seems to be about the only logical place to keep such a thing**:o.

*
**For those of us that don't own a TGI Fridays franchse, or a Chotchkies.

Hey, gents, how's Friday night? Ssulivan, glad to hear you have wireless and phone. When I moved to SC YEARS ago, Hugo hit so that slowed down the already slow phone service and I don't remember how long it took to get it (there was no wireless or high speed then but alas I am dating myself). I am happy to say I survived my audit today. I was also told I'd make a good auditor - so if I'm looking for a career change - there I go. SSulivan, what part of ATL are you in? I went to college in Decatur which has changed so much since I was there (for the better of course). I love ATL. Just not the airport.

Not to be outdone by the strangest thing found (sorry, nothing great found in a rental car) - I was managing a retail store and we had a certain person who would buy clothes and go out to a party or concert and then return it. So she did it one time too many and my asst mgr told her she couldn't keep doing it. She said she hadn't worn it. My asst mgr reached in pocked, pulled out the condom and asked "then why is this in here?". End of problem.

Good stuff. I've always wanted to visit Hokkaido. Will need to find a good Onsen there, as well. I hope that SQ still has availability on LAX-NRT in C by mid-July, after my CPT flights post to BD.

I recomend Niseko - I heard that Niseko had become very popular ski town for skiers from Australia.

Canon 28/1.8 and 50/1.4 for sale

I'm selling two of my lenses. Both like new, with all original packaging. No dust, no scratch. I have them listed on Amazon Marketplace already, but if any of you Penalty Box regulars want either or both, let me know and we can work something out, especially for the IAH crew. I also have the genuine Canon hoods for both.

Why? Besides "fast lenstitis", I also acquired "L lens fever". I want to replace both with the 35/1.4L.

We purchased a loft condo in the Kirkwood/Edgewood area. We're actually not too far from Decatur.

PM sent. Anybody else interested, please PM me as well.

Anyways, I'm just going to get from you guys what I'd from Amazon Marketplace, net. For those in Houston, I can deliver and you can pay me cash, and you save on shipping and paypal fees as well. For those elsewhere and need the items to be shipped, I need to recover those costs; and I will only sell to those who I recognize on this board.
