www.wanderingaramean.com. On the right nav bar of the site there is a form you can fill in. The search results page isn't easily bookmarkable, which sucks. CO Insider has stated that they are going to make it easier in the future, but who knows when that will happen. Probably after the reward charts are updated, which seems to be never.

If you want a version that you can just add to your bookmarks PM me with your preferred departure city and length of stay and I'll get you a direct link.

And if you happen to click on an AdWord or two to help support the cause I wouldn't mind. :D No, I am not encouraging click-fraud, but you never know when one might be useful.

I don't think that is the one that CO 1E is looking for. CO has a very well hidden 30-day search calendar that is very similar to the ITA functionality, just limited to CO. It is great for searching out MRs, but CO has made it very hard to bookmark because when you enter the URL in the address bar it changes to something that doesn't include any of the parameters in it. Ultimately this prevents you from getting back to the same query using the URL on the search results page. When the feature was originally "discovered" I spent a couple hours and put together a search form that links to it so I could find it quickly. And then I added it to my blog front page and shared. I know that a few others have taken copies of the source code and adapted it for their personal search defaults, and I am happy to help others do the same as necessary.

More discussion here and here.

That one appears to be a link to the weekly co.com specials, not the monthly fare search calendar tool (thanks, though).

Thanks - found it through the first thread you linked.

One maddening thing about trying to use *A miles is that it's fiendishly difficult to use them months in advance. As the departure date nears, almost all the carriers open up plenty of award seats up front. As of right now, it is possible for me to get to CPT for New Year's, by taking the following routing:

IAH-YYC-FRA-LIS-JNB-CPT-JNB-LIS-FRA-DFW (then DFW-IAH purchased separately).

That might be a tough sell to the Significant Otter. :D

On the plus side, BD is showing wide-open front cabin availability to Ethiopia...

I don't even want to know why you would be considering Ethiopia. Unless you're adopting to get publicity...

I read a trip report from one of the people that got in on the ET IAD-FCO-ADD mistake fare (in Y ), and his photos of Ethiopia actually looked quite cool. Lots of history there: early Christian Churches carved into rock formations, beautiful lakes, impressive highlands, etc.

Yep, you are right. Glad you found it. :)

I'd fly that just for the fun of sampling all those carriers in one trip.

No kidding. I'm pretty sure she would want to kill me by the time we got to CPT, though, regardless of which cabins we would be flying in.

Ridiculous option #2 at the moment is SATA BOS-PDL (Ponta Delgada, Azores)-LIS, with a few days' stopover in PDL. They have a decent biz fare on the route (about $1250, all-in), and it's on an A310. Only earns miles in TP, I believe...

Turkey is supposed to have quite a bit of the same architecture/constructions. We're planning on spending a few days exploring them in September in the Cappadocia region. But I will admit that Ethiopia is on my list of countries in Africa to visit. I don't particularly know why, but I'm very intrigued by the country.

I had considered Turkey, but thought it might be a bit chilly over New Year's. The Azores/Lisbon are about as cold as I'd want to go (50s & 60s in late December, generally). I'd imagine it's fairly warm in Ethiopia year-round (except, perhaps, in the uppermost highlands).

Getting back to Turkey is on my short-list (especially now that TK is part of *A). My one trip to Kuşadası/Ephesus was fantastic. I'd definitely go back, but want to see more of the country first (Istanbul, particularly).

I just booked a trip on CO.com from the hexagonal PClub in EWR. I feel like I should be getting triple EQM's or something.

Bah.
