Istanbul RULES. Must do's include Korfez, the Spice Bazaar, and of course Topkapi Paclace and the Blue Mosque. Just a spectacular city. And Korfez was one of the best dinners ever, ever.

ETA: Korfez was among the spots hit by JFK Jr. and Caroline on their honeymoon, and people go for the sea bass, which is fished from the back pier of the restaurant. You can also lay claim to having dinner on another continent, since it's on the Asian side. The sea bass is encrusted in salt and broiled...while one would think that a salt casing would suck all the moisture from the fish, in this case it's just the opposite. The wooden case with the salt covering is then brought tableside and opened in a flambe style, with the salt getting cracked thanks to a combination of a mallet and fire. It's just too cool.

I'm not sure this warrants a thread of its own but I was wondering how people would suggest I book the following itin?

BOS-EWR-HKG-EWR-SAN-IAH-BOS where I would fly BOS-EWR-HKG, spend some time in Hong Kong, then fly HKG-EWR, get off the plane, shower in the PC, and get on the evening flight EWR-SAN, spend the weekend in SAN, then fly back the following Monday.

I want to try for a BF mileage upgrade to HKG and I want to buy a H fare so I don't have to do the copay plus get the EQM bonus. Will this require that I book H through the entire itin? Also how far does the complimentary domestic mileage upgrade extend? I'm assuming BOS-EWR is good to go since it's the same day, but what about EWR-SAN on the day that I return from HKG?

I assume for SAN-IAH-BOS I'll just have to take my chances as a plat on an H fare..

BOS-EWR might be full Y no matter what. I don't know if CO.com lets you select fare buckets on individual legs.

No individual fare bucket select on CO.com that I could find. Forcing it into H using multiple destinations and with the Chase 5% discount (presently) I get a grand total of $2,882.85.

Plus the possibility of 25,000 each way on the BF mileage upgrade assuming such an animal exists around New Year's. Heh.

Sounds delicious. I'll have to see if I can get a reservation there for one of the two nights that we have available.

I have had the salt-crusted fish at the Italian place by me and it is phenomenal. They also de-salt the fish table-side (though without flames) and it is fun to watch and delicious to eat.

Is it hard to get in to?

ConciergeMike Jun 17, 2008 6:45 pm

It shouldn't be hard at the time of year that you're going. Let me know when you want to go - I need: name, phone, email, date, number in party, and whether or not you'll need boat service, in addition to any applicable comments (anniversary, etc.). Once I have that and submit it, they will get in touch with you if the time isn't good or something.

Just saw Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers at MSG. Those guys still put on a pretty amazing show. And the contact high in the air wasn't too bad either :D

Any ITA experts out there? I'm bored tonight so I am playing around with some premium class mileage run. On FC, I found an LGA-MKE fare (in the Y-Up section) that is supposedly $393. The fare class is 'MUPRF' which is kind of surprising because I didn't think M fares were able to be upgraded to F - is this true?

Anyway, I want to see if I can get any sort of decent routing out of this fare. I am trying to use the syntax in this thread to force the fare basis in the ITA search. Here is the syntax I am using:

Code:

From: LGA::/ f dl.lga+mke.MUPRF
To: MKE::/ f dl.lga+mke.MUPRF

I am not getting any results with this. Any idea what I am doing wrong? I'm a bit new to playing with premium runs and the more advanced features of ITA, so I may be way off here. :)

Yeah, you could barely see 10 feet in front of you at the Roger Waters shows.

+1

This lobby stops being gorgeous after about an hour. Besides, staring into the blown glass sculptures and trying to see where all the pieces fit gives you an intense headache.

I'm "working" from home this week. I did have to work all day Monday — was on the phone with a client pretty much all day. The rest of the week it's take the occasional phone call if one comes in, and respond to e-mails. It's a nice break this week. However, the next two weeks are looking like more of the same. By then I may be bored to death. At least part of next week I'll be in Houston and Dallas to deal with the last of my move and visiting friends in both cities.

Add me to the "bored of my job" category.

I had an interview a week and a half ago and I am still waiting on the decision. I'm also still debating on whether or not I think the job/company would be the right fit. All I know is that I need some sort of a change...
