I second that. IBM and now Lenovo has been smart to not mess with perfection.

In 2005 I bought an IBM T42 to take on the road. That laptop is a machine - it took two full cups of water on the keyboard, and still runs perfectly (after allowing it to dry!).

I do like the way that keyboard feels, but it did wear out much faster than previous IBM's that I've owned. Until recently, I had an old Thinkpad 600 with a nearly pristine keyboard after years of pounding. The new stuff although good, just doesn't compare.

This is a non issue. Just use a regular mouse.

I love that the Mac has built in bluetooth. I got a bluetooth mouse w/o a USB dongle and it works great.

I was working off a T-30 for a while (aka the Herniamatic 3000) and my IT dept. wouldn't upgrade me because, by my own admission, it worked perfectly. I then embarked on a campaign of unintentional mutilation.

Water, coffee, drops, trips around the world, etc. had no adverse affect. It is the original Toughbook.

You have 13 days left to do that, unless you plan on buying a "netbook" which is the new name for the ASUS eee, Dell e and other mini-computers. After June 30 Microsoft is really pulling the plug. Or so they claim. Again.

Thanks for pointing that out - I did not realize they were about to pull it.

I actually went into our storage area last night to look for an Easy Bake Oven (it was a joke office gift a couple years ago) and much to my dismay, my blonder half apparently gave it to her niece.

Looks like the integrity of the BF cabin will remain in-tact for another night. :o

Of course, that is through OEM channels. Buy a copy for yourself, then install it wherever you want. :D

Admittedly, I got the wireless (bluetooth) Apple Mighty Mouse, and I love it. ^

One of my colleagues just came into my office. He has the dubious honor of flying US today and wanted advice on seat selection. I pulled up his reservation and selected a better seat, then informed him that he would have to pay $2 for soda or water. He is none too pleased.

Yeah...I really want to purchase two copies of an OS for my new computer.

More of an issue will be that the next round of hardware will likely not include drivers for XP. While most stuff should continue working for a while, this will eventually catch up and screw folks who want to downgrade themselves.

Lacking any real innovation, Microsoft has chosen to force the issue by pulling the old product.

Portions of the post that previously appeared in this space have been deleted. I would provide you with a reason why, but doing so would likely be against the TOS.

Hold down the control key when clicking (IIRC, if not, it's the apple/command key but pretty sure it's the control key).

Is that a rhetorical question? :D

In all seriousness, I see your point. On the Macbook pro, you can enable "Secondary click" (right click) which uses two fingers on the touch pad, followed by a click of the button. ^

That works too. :D

I'm using an A31 thinkpad, but I have been looking to upgrade to a Mac (using my work discount at the apple store online). I had been looking to make the purchase later this summer. Now with all this talk about Macbook Pros, I want to pull out the wallet now!

I could never figure out how to get ctrl-click (right-click) to work in BootCamp (Windows XP) Mode. Then again, I hardly ever use the Windows partition, so it's not a huge issue.

Could someone post the link to the CO monthly fare search page or tell me how to find it on co.com (since I apparently am an idiot and cannot find it) - the page that I have bookmarked no longer works.
