I am going may 8-11. This was the only time that I can get 3 days there without connecting in DFW and having an overnight layover.

I paid the bit extra per person ($178 instead of $138) and got a decent MIA routing with no overnight. I figure that the $80 is about what I would've spent on hotels in DFW anyways. Sure, I don't get the BZE-DFW or the DFW-EWR lines on FM, but I'll get over that.

I considered routing my LIM trip back via IAH, just to get the LIM-IAH line, but I really need the EQMs. I'll likely do IAH-LIM at some point, anyhow. I'd like to take a proper vacation down there and head to CUZ and Iquitos.

Yeah...I'm going to be going back to Peru. I know that.

Keep an eye on SJO fares, too. B6 just announced service starting in March, which should be good for fares for us. :D

with 5.5 hours in MIA, I am hoping to just spend that time in the Delta lounge there, although I have heard it is a dump

The MIA CRC is just like most of the rest of that airport. A complete dump. Although it looks like it's slightly less dumpy than some of the concourse and gate areas.

The forecast in Iowa is calling for some snow next week, so she might get lucky in NE! :)

She might but I HATE cold/snow/ice/etc.

From EWR, no doubt. I suspect fares from IAH to Central America will remain Teh Suck.

As for LIM, given my limited time on the ground. I'm going to stick to the Centro Historico, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and should have some excellent photo ops. I also plan to snag some fusion Asian/Andean/European food while I am there.

I wish, just once, there would be decent fares to MGA. Nicaragua is the only Central American country I have not visited.

Nah...I actually already lost my quick 20 this year. And I did it by NOT traveling so much. It seriously cut down on my alcohol intake and I dropped 15-20 in a hurry.

When I was made availalble to the industry, I quickly dropped 20 lbs because of increased activity and not eating out for lunch everyday. (now 40 lbs total) The most exercise I'd normally get was from my front door to my car. There was the weekly walking trips down to gate C-115 at EWR but. Now if I can only drop 20 more and I'd be happy but I think I'm destin to be stuck at this weight since I was stuck here before.

While we are shaming people into having FlightMemories, where is baglady's? Think you can regale us with tales of trips to SGN and not provide us pretty lines on a map to illustrate it?

I needed to share this, and I did not find a better place. I saw it today, and both me and my wife could not stop laughing!!!

Enjoy!

I have a feeling something very major is going to happen in the Box tomorrow.

ssullivan Dec 10, 2008 7:59 pm

Or it might happen tonight.

ssullivan Dec 10, 2008 8:00 pm

Anyone want to guess what it is?

ssullivan Dec 10, 2008 8:00 pm

It's going to be a very triumphant moment for the PWP.
