The high temperature here today was 36. It's now back down to 33 and looks rather murky outside.

I look forward to the evening commute. It looks like flurries are being reported along the I-45N Corridor. This ought to be rather entertaining.

It's pretty ridiculous that it will cause mass chaos on the North Freeway, which I'm confident it will, considering that this is very light frozen precipitation, and the temperatures are such that it is melting on contact with the road or ground.

We had a band of it move through the Dallas area last night, and as soon as it passed us by you couldn't even tell that there had been a little snow and sleet. And it lasted maybe five minutes.

And here I am considering a move to Houston for warmer weather... :p

This is one of about 20 days it will be this cold this winter.

And in July and August, you'll be begging for a winter day. Trust me.

Just checked out the window. A light sleet is falling. ^

Sometime back in 2002-2003, i was fortunate, or unfortunate, to witness snow in San Diego.

My 15 minute commute became two hours. It sucked.

People freaked out, took out traffic lights and drove 5mph out of fear.

If I hadn't had to drive in it, i would have been on the side of the road LMAO.

People in Dallas can't drive in winter precip, either. I chalk it up to people from Dallas being idiots. They usually get hit by at least one ice storm per year, so should be used to it. We are on the receiving end of flurries about once every 8-10 years.

I can't imagine ever begging for a winter day. I hate cold weather.

They handle it better than Houston drivers, or at least they did when I was in college up here in the early-mid 1990s.

And last night, it didn't even cause a blip in rush hour traffic.

The average winter day in Houston means it's 60-65 and cloudy. That's hardly cold weather.

This is always apropos when talking about bad weather driving.:D

When it's 98 and full-bore humidity in August, and the city feels like the inside of a grimy jock-strap, I'd kill for some snow. This is just a wish fulfilled, IMO.

I just want to make perfectly clear that I think Dallas sucks. :)
