Maybe I should have just called in today and stayed at the hotel. Nothing seems to be working here this morning.

Why is it that at least 60% of my clients have DBAs whose personalities, willingness to do what you ask, and overall common sense level can best be described by a big fat ?

Aye. There's a lot of unpolished turds in these parts. :D

Mythbusters did prove that turds are able to be polished. However, Adam and Jamie do not post on FT that I know of. :D

Visit your local Morton's and get their corporate cookbook. The Morton's Key Lime is likely the best around.

There is a Morton's en route from my classes to The Saucer each evening. I may have to stop off for a pie as I make my way towards beer.

I will have to try that. I absolutely love Key Lime Pie - so much so, that I won a major Wedding-Planning battle. My Groom's Cake will actually be a multi-tiered Key Lime Pie. Apparently, this is the last decision I am allowed to make without adult supervision (and veto power).

I requested a 777 for my grooms cake.

Or buy a jar of Nellie's key lime juice, a box of graham crackers, a can of sweetened condensed milk a stick of butter and maybe one or two other ingredients. The recipe on the back of the Nellie's bottle is hard to beat, IMO.

That being said, there is a notable rift in the Key Lime fan world (it is my fav also, FWIW) about the level of sweetness that such a pie presents. I prefer mine more tart than not.

Take a night off from the Saucer and hit the Morton's bar for cappuccino and key lime pie. Buy the cookbook, as it's well worth having access to their methods and ingredients.

Because they are DBAs, and they know best. I've actually found that most in-house IT folks are that way. Eventually someone explains to them that the company is paying us a lot of money for our expertise/knowledge/experience and the in-house folks sometimes come around, but it can be quite a fight.

I prefer tart, as well.

Nice! I told her that a model could be substituted if an actual 777 cake was insanely expensive. The end result will be a surprise. :)

EDIT: I always wondered where the name Hartmann came from...

Argh! If I get sent away to prison in Texas for choking the client's DBA to death today, well, it was nice knowing y'all. Keep up the flying for me.

I think I should just go to lunch before I yell and say something I later regret here at the office.

I sometimes need to have coffee with the Morton's pie as sometimes it is too tart for me to finish the slice. I like tart, and I just that my inability to finish the slice is more a function of the size of the slice.

A 777 model is ^ ^

There was a lot of searching by her to find my model. After the wedding she found out that the Bf-109 is not my favorite German plane (Fw-190) but that I liked the pilot and his story and the fact that I met him before he passed away. She understood.

People at the wedding were confused, my uncle (a retired Air Force pilot) could not figure out why there was a plane with Iron Crosses on the wings.

Yep, you're right. But the ridiculous thing is I am a consultant employed by the company that developed the software. And in this case, I most certainly know what I'm talking about, and she's flat out wrong. Don't tell me a form doesn't exist in our software, when I can show it to you on my system on my laptop, and on your system there are error messages saying the Payroll Director needs access to that form, which you're not letting her access out of nothing but pure stubbornness and stupidity.

What I'd really like to tell her is "This would be important to you if it was your paycheck that was wrong because you wouldn't give her access to something she's supposed to have access to for no reason at all." Unfortunately me saying that isn't worth being kicked off this project, especially right now when we're trimming staff and I really want to keep my job.

I know I don't know everything. But d@mn it, I'm right on this issue. And she's flat out wrong. And everyone else here agrees with me.

Call Duff Goldman's shop. They did the DL 767 I mentioned the other day and it came out really nicely. Last I looked, they were booked thru EOY 08, but for mid-09 you might be able to book the cake and get a flight out of going to get it.
