I'm not as schooled in good fares as the rest of the bunch, but if I see a number that doesn't trigger an irregular heartbeat, I'm inclined to go for it.

J'accord.

Dick Marcinko used that in a few of his books, IIRC.

$1360 for 2xAI in Y EWR-CDG? Pull that trigger.

As that Y as in full Y with no restrictions (easily upgraded with just a handful of OnePass miles)? Or Y as in generic "get your @ss to the back of the plane where the seats suck, you cheap b@sta@rd."

It's not a great deal, but it isn't a rip-off, either. Then again, I am accustomed to IAH TATL prices. I would take $680 in March to CDG without qualms. However, I imagine competition on the East Coast yields better deals most of the time.

My old man is a big golfer and has a corporate membership at The Woodlands CC but evidently that wasnt good enough so they just bought a lot at Carlton Woods (for the club). Not sure if they plan on building something or not. IMO, WASTE OF $$$.

It would be the latter, I'm afraid. Even expanding my search to include JFK doesn't yield better fares. The trips dates would be 2/27 - 03/04, so I'd think that would be a bit of the low season.

Ah, I thought you were mid or late march (Spring Break Season). There ought to be better deals than $680 around for that early. Wait until after Christmas when the airlines start bricking themselves, realizing that they either need to drop fares (with $40BBL Oil, why not), or cut capacity to non-existence.

Yeah...I'd think it was just fine for an IAH fare but would expect sub-$500 for NYC at that time of year. Maybe I'm just being greedy/unreasonable.

My Breton ex-girlfriend used it. Who knows whether it's acceptable or not.

Perhaps it is acceptable written slang. In spoken French, it certainly is used.

During any period that remotely could be considered spring break time by CO, I have not seen fares to Europe that low since circa 2003.

Yep, but he's looking at late-Feb to March 4th (I was initially thinking Spring Break, as well). He should be able to do better for those dates.

I refuse to even look at IAH-Mexico fares in March, other than for pure comedic value.

My god the box is hopping today. I just had to go through almost four pages of posts.

The only thing that concerns me is that the 10PM flight on the 767 is fairly full in the non-elite Y section (the return is flat out empty), so I don't know if they would bother reducing the fare all that much.

True. I concur.
